First I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! Unfortunately this year I think I am going to skip doing a New Year's picture but I still wanted to post something. I have had this picture in my stash for a while now and I think it's time to show y'all! Anyway I hope you guys like and enjoy the story.

*This story is meant for the purpose of my enjoyment and those who will enjoy it as well. Nothing contained in the story below is meant to fit perfectly in the canon universe of DC*

*BTW- This will be an important part of Shadow's story*

Story:

The story starts in season three when Shadow and the others saved Terra from the meta-human auction.

Alex has a large distaste for villains and people who exploit, abuse or otherwise use children in their evil plots. This stems from when she was little and she learned of what happened to her parents and many other children by Genetics X. Their evil was then further proven as they hunted her down and ruined what little of a childhood she had. Since then anybody who does anything to or with a child angers Alex very much. The entire meta-human trafficking is a big thing for her and hits home hard.

While saving Terra and other meta-humans Alex found out that the Court of Owls also had their hands in meta human trafficking. She already didn't like them and wanted to take them down but she made a vow to herself to do more and take them down sooner before more helpless children wound up getting auctioned off.

After the main events of season three and before season four, Alex spends a lot of time researching and observing the court of owls and their "talons". When she first told Dick about her plan to research and observe th Court of Owls, he wasn't happy and tried to convince her to leave the Court to Batman. He tried to explain to her how dangerous they are and told about the encounters Bruce has had with them. Alex being quite stubborn and set to do it ignored his points and continued to move forward with her plan.

Dick decided that he had no choice but to tell Batman about her plan, hoping that he could get her to stop before something bad happened. After hearing what Alex was planning on doing, Batman went to Alex and told her NOT to pursue the Court of Owls. He reiterated what Dick had said about them, as well as emphasising on how his past encounters had gone with them. He attempted different things to try and get Alex to back off, including banning her from the Batcave, threatening her position with the Team and League among others. None worked, as Alex was determined to move ahead.

Alex was furious with Batman, but even more so with Dick. How dare he go behind her back and get Batman involved! Because of this, Alex and Dick's relationship hit a major speed bump. It would be a long while before Alex forgave him and they moved past his betrayal, as well as Dick forgiving Alex for putting herself in harms way.

She would spend hours observing and making notes. She used what little knowlege she had about the Court and the suspected people involved to find out as much as possible. She would observe said people and their day to day lives. Watching who they interacted with, where they went and when. Planning and trying to find a way to shut them down. But first she had to locate their base/meeting place.

After Alex refused to listen to anyone about the dangers she out herself in, Dick felt that he had no choice but to follow her on most of her recon outings. At first he hid from her and would watch from a distance but eventually Alex caught on to what he was doing. After that he went with her, just to keep an eye on her. Sometimes he would help and find something that Alex had missed, but he hoped that she would drop the Court and focus on something else.

With them not getting along, it made for tense and long days. The longer it went on the more Alex missed what they used to have. She debated giving up many times but each time she thought of the dozens of children that would get auctioned off and doubled down on her efforts.

Finally Alex finally had what she thought was enough information and evidence to launch a large attack against the Court and take them down in one swift move. She knew that if they messed up the attack the court would disappear and she would have to start all over again. She was 99% sure of where the Court was located, and pretty sure she knew most of the people involved. After going over her plan with Dick, which involved a large scale attack on the Court, he agreed that it was possible. But he insisted she talk to Batman first.

(Present scene)
Agreeing that it was best she and Dick went to Batman with her research and plan. She took her time and explained everything to him. Unfortunately Batman wasn't ready to mount an attack against the Court. He was too busy with the general meta-human trafficking problem. Plus he wanted to go over her research himself, to make sure that everything was in place and would go as planned. He was highly sceptical about the location. Alex didn't mind him looking the plan over but was angered because he didn't want to do the attack now when they had a chance before the Court of Owls disappeared again.

Alex knew that without Batman's green light she wouldn't get the help she needed from the other heroes. She needed numbers to be able to fight the Court's army worth of Talons. She argued with Batman and Dick backed up her points but he also sided with Batman, stating that it was too dangerous and not a good idea.

Alex argued and argued with Batman, getting angrier with him for not trusting her. She was also angry with Dick for not backing her up 100%. But Batman had made up his mind, there wasn't anything she could do... unless...
