nice, I like it.
And it's funny, because I found you whilst looking through the "random deviation" button.

Thanks, I'm glad you do. c: I put a lot of time in this one, but... gosh, it's so old, now. Heh.
Oh, did you? Fancy that!

Thank you very much, I'm happier with it now that I've had some time after working on it... although comparing the photo to the real thing is still a bit disheartening. Oh well. Heh. c:

Oh my god.
This is amazing. While you might have mass-murdered your markers, the result is brilliant. The colours, atmosphere, everything has left me stunned. I think that, above all, it is the addition of a background that has truly made this stand out. You can actually see this as a scene, as opposed to simply being a drawing, as-is. The pose, anatomy and colouring of Nara is wonderful, and I personally see nothing wrong with her tail--perhaps the green colour could stand out a bit more against the grass, but that's it. I truly envy your ability to convey all of this so accurately and with such skill; it's such a huge leap from what you've been doing before.
This has been quite a wake-up call to me, as well, regarding backgrounds. Seeing how stunning this is with the addition of something so basic has inspired me to go ahead and try my hand at drawing backgrounds again, even if it takes a decade to complete. And not even that, but you've done this with traditional media as well. The lack of any means to correct your mistakes, as it's easy to do in PS, always gets me anxious that things will turn out horribly. But nonetheless I want to try it again after seeing this, even if I mess it up. Both digital and traditional, I feel inspired to try again and see if I can improve as much as you have done here.
*sits in shame corner*
I should've been doing it before, though. The time required always left things half-done. But I want to try again now. I've went back to an A4 pad this week; I will make sure the front page is going to have a background. I want that to mark the start of my 'proper' pictures.
You've truly outdone yourself with this, it's amazing. Thank you for posting it, both for yourself and so that I could realise this.

Regarding the hair on her tail, the portion nearest her body shows up vomit coloured. D:
...I'm really glad to read that this actually is processed as a scene, though. That's what I want to do.
I have to keep working with backgrounds like this to actually get decent with them. It's funny that I ended up spending half a day working on a picture featuring Nara of all characters, now that I think about it.
I'm delighted that this has inspired you...
...but get out of that shame corner! You've had a lot of stuff to deal with!
I'm excited to see what new works you come up with. c:

The lighting looks really cool. I reckon it's harder to do good lighting traditionally than digitally.

Thank you, and yes, I think it is. Not being able to go over where you've coloured with something lighter is such a pain.
