Description
It’s a beautiful thing to look out of the window and see peace. The snow falling ever so delicately from the white cotton balls, glistening under the streetlights. Floating, sinking to the bottom of our earth and landing onto shimmering hills. It was breathtaking. It was raining crystals.

I took in a deep breath, rubbing my arms for warmth and exhaled. The window fogged from the caress of my warm breath and soon faded back to a clear ice area. It was 11:00pm and I couldn’t sleep. So I stayed up, in a sweater and wool shorts, watching the diamonds outside.

I had a lot on my mind and I wasn’t sure how to let my thoughts go. I was preoccupied with worries and to forget about them would be irresponsible. I forced my self to sit on the windowsill and let my headrest on the back wall.

“Oh God….” Was all I could muster.

Ideas raced through my head, millions of stress related thoughts and I couldn’t control them. I was on overload. I rubbed my temples with my index fingers and tried to calm myself down.

“Be the snow,” Delicate, quiet, still, calm…
I had to stay calm.

“No worrying.” I told myself.

I looked back outside, still seeing the same magnificent image from earlier. How I longed to be the snow… I wanted to be beautiful, delicate, fragile and possibly graceful.

Suddenly, a rush came over me.

I slashed open the window, throwing my head out, breathing in the crisp air. It stung my lungs from how cold it was. I lifted my bare leg up to the window and swung the other out. My leg seemed to feel like ice immediately from the frigid winds but it didn’t register in me. I then brought my whole body out, stood on the outside ledge. I looked down, 3 floors high. It was stunning.

“I love the snow…” and I jumped.
