Want a versatile piece for a small space?We took our traditional ash square coffee table (spindle version here- [link] ) , made the sides packed panels, and added a shelf on the inside and left the top unattached.
The top has to be lifted, we did not hinge it, for safety reasons and ease of use.
It's not very heavy or unwieldy at all.
You can fit years worth of magazines inside, or slippers, or anything.
And it's still a table.
SPECIFIC PIECE IS NO LONGER FOR SALE! It (and it's twin!) Just sold.

you know i live the piece but i dont like the guides on the bottom. i think they contrast too much with the finish you did on the majority of the piece. my buddy who is a woodworker happens to be sitting by me, he said great piece but put the guides on the boom of the lid! anyway. overall a great piece.
