I'm actually not that overly fond of how they made Spike more a standalone character. I really liked how he was a fully believable character who was a servant. Some people are happy just being servants and get satisfaction from seeing someone else succeed. Servant characters like that are very rare and I don't think it's a mindset that should be demonized.
To be clear there is a big difference between a servant and a slave. A slave has no identity of his own and is merely just property of their master. A servant is one who chooses to follow one and get's their own form of satisfaction.

I'm been a little slow in watching Season 8, but I finally caught up to the episode I've been looking forward to, "Molt Down."Β And it was awesome!
First of all, just WOW!Β It finally happened!Β SpikeΒ FINALLY got his wings, andΒ the storyΒ was told in such a beautiful way.Β From seeing PeeWee all grown up, to learning about dragon puberty, to seeing the epic transformation as Spike emerged from that stone shell like a butterfly leaving a cocoon.Β The humor was funny, the jokes were fitting, the message was clear and meaningful, and the embrace at the end was heartwarming.Β Definitely one of the best episodes of Season 8 so far.
As for your piece, you really captured the feeling of "Molt Down."Β This was an episode about growing up, and so that quote is right at home with the emotion.Β Twilight's amethyst eyes brim with tears at the bigΒ step her little dragon has taken in his life.Β Soon he may not be so "little" anymore.Β Then he'll beΒ Twilight's dear dragon.Β Also, Spike's blush is so cute!Β It's reminiscent of a mother embracing her son; it's clear to see how proud she is of him.
Also, the composition and spacingΒ of this piece is well too.Β That crystal chunk helps balance the weight between it and Twilight and Spike.

Hope you are doing fine, Scholar and thank you for yet another review. Of course I was aiming at the "mother and son" feel and I'm glad you noticed that, too! I went for a simple background because I don't think it needs more - and to be hones it's easier to draw!
