Description I was talking to Ashley and we were discussing our futures. Together. School. Life after that. Hopes. Dreams. Goals. I was enamored by what our hands were doing without even realizing it. They knew exactly how we were gonna pull this off.

Strength through unity.

What really caught my attention was how powerful a simple gesture like this can be. There's a strong contrast between the hands, one is strong and masculine. The other is distinctly feminine. the lights make one appear as though it is covered in shadows while the other is bathed in light. Even though 2 people are very different we can rely on each others strengths to make us better. I wouldn't trade anything in the world for her.

I want to take my photography in a much more expressive direction. I hope I can do more pieces like this.

Peace,
~Dshark

This is very beautiful and shows such strength of emotion... I can't add anything that others haven't already said, except perhaps more encouragement to follow expressive photography

Unity through faith...

I like it, seems a little soft but all in all I really dig it.

I agree. I like the comp, but my technique was sloppy.

Devin is back! I absolutely love the lighting in this and the expression that it conveys. There is so much emotion in this shot. I don't agree that the format should be square... you would miss the way the arms intertwine and the intensity in the forearm muscles. Plus the lighting would get cut off and it would be dark. Just my opinion. Great job!

Ah! Thank you Aimee (still weird, I'm workin on it)! I'm seriously considering redoing this. Because I totally agree, all the right stuff is here, I just need a higher contrast between lights and darks, its all a little grey. Normally I wouldn't have a problem doing that as its shot in RAW, it's just that it was shot at ISO 1600 and it would be too grainy to work. Thanks for the comments!

Do you still have the original file? I'm not sure why, but I'd like this a little more if it was square. Still looks great as it is, though. Here's to your conceptual photography

That's really cool the way that this picture has personal depth to it. I suppose that's one of the perks of photography, it's a literal moment in time that you have captured.
Really cool stuff. Can't wait to see more! and Good Luck with whatever path of life you take!
