Description For a couple of ideas for my Hunger series, I've been having a think about world building and various roles different animals would have in the society in the story (in Zootopia and Beastars, among other anthro animal stories, one thing I find really interesting about those stories is how animals and their characteristics would factor into the world), and I've also been colouring in some old sketches I've got saved that I've been meaning to finish for a while now.

While watching the Asterix film, The Twelve Tasks of Asterix, one scene in the film, namely the Place That Sends You Mad (as shown here - www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtEkUm… - just a bit of a heads up, there IS a bit of blackface in this clip, just as a heads up ) that highlights problems with bureaucracy in a nutshell made me think what it would be like in my series for something similar, and I thought them clucking away like chickens towards the end would make it fitting if an accountants office was run by chickens in a coop. So here we have the coop being run rather oddly with inconsistent numbering of coops, the staff clucking away rather than working, half of the staff out for lunch at the same time, and the clients arguing with them over shoddy service - be you a common British lizard, a ring tailed lemur, or a flipping HAMMERHEAD SHARK, if you have forms to fill out, you have to wait your turn. As long as no fighting or predation takes place... (Speaking of which, the hammerhead shark's water tank was a bit tricky to get down, but I like the idea of the aquatic denizens wearing water tanks when they go on land. )

As well as thinking up the concept, one thing I really had fun with was looking up different chicken species to draw, and I liked the idea of them having little rosettes and rewards like real life competition chickens have. In this universe, seen as they're feeding the populace with some of their eggs, they'd be seen with some kind of respect, and they'd likely take part in beauty shows to strut their stuff.

Top row left to right - Appenzeller Spitzhauben, Sultan chicken, Orpington

Second row left to right - Brahma, Rhode island red, Braekel, Black Australorp

Third row left to right - Barnevelder and Ayam Cemani

My next few drawings for Hunger will probably be centered around thinking about worldbuilding, so I look forward to sharing them with you all. (One of my ideas I'm thinking about is how this world would tackle the Carnivore Confusion and Predation Is Natural tropes, as those are two tropes I find most intriguing in anthro animal fiction.....

I’m liking this idea. This sounds cool.

I also do want to make a story with animals and humans sharing the same society, sort of like this, Seton Academy or even My Gym Partner’s a Monkey. You think you can give me some tips on that if possible?
