Description Another monster drawing here, this time based of one suggested by my friend .

This is a drawing of an Australian cryptid called the Yara-ma-yha-who - a frog like man with red skin who is vampiric in its feeding habits.

The Yara-ma-yha-who is said to live in fig trees. (This is the first time I've drawn a fig tree, and I looked up pictures of Australian fig trees as a reference, so hopefully I got it accurate. ) Instead of hunting for food, it is described as waiting for an unsuspecting traveller to rest under the tree. The creature then drops down and uses its suckers to drain the victim's blood. After that it swallows the person, drinks some water, and then takes a nap. When the Yara-ma-yha-who awakens, it regurgitates the victim, leaving them shorter than before. The victim's skin also has a reddish tint to it that it didn't have before (I put someone half transformed into a yara-ma-yha-who in the tree here). It repeats this process several times. At length, the victim is transformed into a Yara-ma-yha-who themselves.

According to legend, the Yara-ma-yha-who is only active during the day and only targets living prey. Playing dead until sunset (it is said to only hunt during the day) is offered as a ploy to avoid attack.

Now there's an unusual beast! My favorite's the Whowie; the giant, multi-legged lizard with the head and long tongue of a toad!

My friend, you've given me another idea for a cryptid to draw in the future.

You're welcome. (And it's not just for that, mate - I've been enjoying reading your comments and conversations for a while now, so I felt you deserve a watch. )

*chuckles* Well, I do try to add something to your material. Oh, speaking of which, since you're here, feel free to look into my many, many projects archived in my Gallery. Who knows, you might see why I comment so fluently.

Oh, and a merry Yuletide and New Year to ya, ol' bean. I've been watching you for some time, and I like the unique art style and informative content you present. Extra points for that winter-themed skeleton horse, it has a sort of Christmas Carol vibe to it.
