Looks a lot like one of the Eldar, which is not that surprising as Eldar are far more technologically advanced and utilise much better armour designs than the Imperium.

Saggitars are the warrior caste of a culture called the Interex, encountered by the Lunar Wolves in Horus Rising. One of the rare instances of Abnett reusing a name (unless he has grand plans for the origin of Slaith??)
Anyway, cheers for the comments, glad you like it!

Hey, nice interpretation! Close to how I imagined them. Poor buggers got slaughtered...

Isn't it just interex, not interfex?

This one is truly amazing! I loved the first 3 parts of the Horus Heresy books the most, and that was partly due to the Interfex and the tragic events that surrounded them.
amazing work!!

I like the first one, written by Abnett. I'd never conceived of the Imperium at it's foundation as such an idealistic, enlightened, secular state, makes the collapse into war and darkness all the more tragic. I love the first encounter with a daemon (poor Jubal) and the horrified disbelief of the Lunar Wolves. I love the almost Shakespearean foreshadowing of the traumas to come in almost every line Horus utters, absolute genius.
Unfortunately all this makes Mcneill and Counters contributions look even weaker by comparison. There's nothing in either book that matches the heroic invention of the Interfex and Megarachnid, both of which deserved books of their own!

The Interex were a deviant off-shoot of Humanity who consorted with Xenos, approached by Horus during the Great Crusade (Read Horus Rising.)
