In my worst artblock EVER OTL I haven't managed to finish any kind of real drawing in what? 3 months!?!??! OTL Only concepts and linearts and tons of WiPs >3<; I want my creativeness baaaaaack *sobs somewhere* Guys what do you do when you are stuck in an artblock? Q___Q;; My usual tricks don't seem to work AT ALL OTL Can't seem to sit on anything longer than 2 hours and really have to FORCE myself to work on OTL

A little concept I drew yesterday in hope to get my creative spree back. I really love the overall idea and design but.... didn't work artblockwise 8D;

Eitherway, this is NOT!!!!!!! my original design!!! The idea of the dreamers is 's original concept! I just visualized it the way I imagined them from our Roleplays!! And I visualized it without her input in the process so some things might be off the way she originally imagined them! (aka, might change some stuff)

The dreamers are a dragon race Fure created for our RPs that lately become more and more important so I wanted to have some rough idea at least how their real bodies look like... These dragons sleep almost their entire life, lying savely in a secret cave surrounded by other dreamers and protected by crystaline cocoons. They -dream- of their existance on the world and thus create projections of their humanized or animalized selves that go through the world with the purpose to collect facts about Zion and saving this knowledge. They never interfer with life on Zion (well, they shouldn't at least as it is against the clan's rules... *stares at Anil* 8D) and never are to share the knowledge they collected over the millennia of their lives.

Sooo... this design is based on what we RPed this far... let me explain the features.

The head form: Dreamers don't eat... not while sleeping at least. They gain their energy and 'food' by recycling and exchanging souls through their cocoons, usually the ones from the other dreamers around them, which kind of connects all dreamers among each other... So, I thought they don't need powerful jaws to eat, a soft round snout matches their nature way better.

The pearly colors: In our RPs, Fure always described the dreamers, no matter if in humanized or animal form to have white hair or fur, etc... but also often described as 'pearly', 'shimmering in soft colors', etc... A complete white dragon is boring... especially for a race as exceptional as the dreamers, hence the many soft pearly colors~

Fragile long legs and body: The dreamers rarely are up and awake, they don't have to run around, walk, etc... thus their body doesnt have to be as muscular as other animals' legs or chests (Don't need much space for a powerful lung or heart...) also Furesiya mentioned in one of our RPs in which we met Anil in her real body, that she has a slender and elegant body.

Horns, crystals and scales: The horns are obvious as Anil has them in her human shape as well... but for the other horns and crystals I assumed that, since they build these crystaline cocoons around themselves, they have to somehow wear some crystaline features on their body too...

Wings: The wings are the part I enjoyed designing most. When Anil is in her human form and needs to fly, she spreads 'wings that remind of moths'... that was all Fure ever said about them... Now, real insect wings on a dragon... can work... but in the dreamers case I thought that's a bit random... so I tried to merge moth- and dragon wings into one. Fure said the dreamers are entirely pearly and white... so I left their tops that way, but to give them a little variation and also a way to keep them appart from each other, the lower side of the wings that usually can't be seen while the wings are folded or while the dreamers sleep, using their wings as blankets, the bottom side of the wings has a bit more structure and color... Also the shape of the wings without the joints makes them use their wings like butterflies, flapping light motions instead of the 'bird'-way... Folded together they work like fans, one solid long 'bar' the dreamers carry on their backs to have them out of the way.

Tail: A feature Fure and I never talked about.. but looking at moths, their lower bodies are rather 'thick'.. not that doesn't really match the elegance the dreamers are supposed to depicture, thus I thought of something else: Their tails being like veils falling around them elegantly and when they fly, from below, the wind spreads it, giving the impression of a moth's lower body.

The spikes on the back of her neck: The part I was and still am the most unsure about. The pure neck looked too 'naked' but spikes or fins just gave the wrong image, eiher destroying the elegant overall picture or looking rather off place... so I tried to use the moth theme again, making the 'spikes' resemble moth feelers...

Well... that's pretty much it 8D;; *goes back banging head against tablet to finish the last drawings for next SQ before deadline*
