Description A little something different, but nothing special. This was taken from Kerry Park as a float plane flies over the city on its final approach to Lake Union.

... I love Kerry Park, it's the best place in the world on the fourth of July because if you position yourself just right you can watch both fireworks displays from Elliott Bay as well as Lake Union and still see the private stuff off of Alki...

That sounds cool! You'd better keep the exact location a secret though. It must already be pretty crowded then. I have a location on Capitol Hill that you can see both Elliott Bay and Lk Union from, but I will have to check it the next time and see if you can get Alki too. Have you seen the fireworks images in my gallery? That is where they came from.

... yes, it was your fireworks photos that attracted me to your gallery in the first place... I used to live on Capital Hill and would walk to Denny for the displays because I never had it in me to go down to Myrtle Edwards and fight the crowds...

Wow, I can't believe how many people I've met here who either do or have lived on Capitol Hill. I suppose my photos from there do have a way of attracting people who recognize the view though, eh? We always have such a problem finding parking on Capitol Hill on those evenings, but it is nice to have all the elbow room we like once we get there. I have some more Kerry Park photos from last night to try to post this weekend. It was so clear and beautiful!

Beautiful shot, I used to work in the Jackson Federal Building in downtown Seattle, it is the end building on the right, with the black top, it is a bit shorter of a building.

Oh, now I know which one it is. I remember you mentioning that in my big Seattle pano, but I couldn't ever figure out which one it was. Now I know. There are only a few that I can actually name besides the obvious! I can't even begin to imagine how to find them.

Is that the Space Needle? It looks almost like a space ship coming in for a landing.

Is that on Queen Anne too? I had never been to Kerry Park before. It is a pretty view, but over photographed imo. I just had to add mine to the fray.

Did you know about the Seattle Project? They mention trying to get a group together to do some Seattle photography. That might be something you'd enjoy too.

No, we will have to check that out the next time we are there. We would have explored more, but had dinner reservations. Otherwise we'd have waited a little later to do photos.
