Seattle is one of my favourite American cities to visit, and this is a wonderful view of that beautiful city. Thanks for sharing it.

Do you mean the Space Needle? It is such a Seattle icon that you really can't live here and not love it. Thank you, I am glad to have positive feedback about my new border too.

I guess that is the nice part about living here. You actually do get to enjoy it when the weather is good. The secret is that it doesn't usually rain hard here. It is more of a constant drizzle, so you don't really even need an umbrella most of the time. Plus, everything has a sort of glow about it when it is wet. In other words, if you visit Seattle plan for rain.

I guess I'm a bit spoiled.. with all the sun we get here.. and you make the rain sound so nice.. actually we could use some more rain down here.. but I'm use to it.. luv the golden hills of CA in the summer.. every time I go out of state in the summer to where it does rain in the summer, it almost seems like I'm visiting another planet..it is a nice change of pace.. but soon I'm yearning to see the golden hills with the olive green oaks.. it just seems every time I've gone north of the "state" of Jefferson.. I get rain..it is so beautiful in western OR and WA.. just would like it see it with a bit less rain..

You just have to hang out here a while. Eventually the sun will come out and it will be worth it when it does. I am just the opposite of you. I really do like the rain. The first time I went to the desert, it was Las Vegas in March, I was so miserable with the dry heat. On the way home the pilot announced it was raining in Seattle and I was so happy. I couldn't wait to get outside of the airport and turn my face up into the rain. I guess we can both say there is no place like home...

Yes, understood. I don't hate the rain.. it just means winter in CA my least favorite season. When I was in Jamaica, it rained every day for like a half hour and it was a warm rain.. loved swimming in the rain there..then the sun came out and it was a bit warmer..not fond of the rain when it is cold and windy..as it usually is in the winter.

Summer rain is fun. I love to walk in it and when we were kids we swam in it all the time. Like, why jump out of the lake because it's raining? Now they say do not swim in the rain because of lightning risk, but we made it all through childhood without getting struck by lighting once while we were swimming or just splashing around in mud puddles. The summer rain we are having right now is NOT the walking or swimming in kind though. We had huge wind storms today and power out all over the place. It's also snowing like crazy in the mountains.

Some people here are suffering the heat, others are watching flood waters rise. I just really wonder if there is anywhere in this huge country of ours where the summer weather is just sunny and 70?

Thanks JR. I did take quite a few waiting for the boat to get into the position that I wanted. This one wasn't ideal because you don't see all of the sails, but I didn't see that it was going to happen exactly how I wanted it. Thank you very much! For the comment and the

It is even more difficult with animals, isn't it? It is a lot harder to predict what they will do next than it is with a sailboat. Or any boat for that matter. I do not have a good eye for animals at all. Especially swimmy ones like whales and dolphins.

I visit the same animals over and over and spend a lot of time sitting and waiting with the camera ready to get a photo. You're sure right about the animals.

Yeah, it takes a lot of patience to get to the good images. There is always something or other that you must wait on for just the right moment.
