Description Dakotaraptor is a dromaeosaurid dinosaur from the late Cretaceous period. It was discovered in South Dakota, USA, and lived alongside famous dinosaurs, such as tyrannosaurus rex and triceratops. Arm bones of this creature featured quill knobs, showing that it was feathered.

And, sorry for the wonky borders.

Well, this species is certainly news to me, it certainly stands out. Impressive job on the animation here.

Nice work on the hands/wings.

My main critique I think is the skull, it seems too wide to me? I can't find a picture of a Dakotaraptor skull from above but the closely related Dromaeosaurus has a skull like thisΒ www.paleofile.com/imges/Dinosa…

How did you warp the whole image like that? XD

If you have any questions about Blender let me know, since switching to the Cycles renderer ~4 years ago I've become a big fan of it over blender renderer, that would prevent the pitch black shadows, though rendering times are usually longer (shorter if you have a strong GPU though)

Thanks. It took awhile to figure out how exactly I should go about doing that.

You're right about the skull. I only used a picture of a raptor from the side when I modeled this. Thanks for the honest analysis.

The warp thing is as unintentional as the clipping. I should try Cycles, thanks for that suggestion. And, if I have any questions, I'll let you know.

That Dako's warping reality...

Still, interesting. Never knew that those existed back then.

Let's hope it doesn't figure out time travel.

Yeah, they find out more all the time.

I'm disappointed that that movie was made before they knew theropod dinos were feathered like big, stupid chickens.

You wanted them to look stupid? While they were killing everyone?

Oh wow, I didn't realize this was going to be animated. Great job making this look very fluid and convincing. Keep up the impressive work, Derek.

We've found out more about dinosaurs within the last decade, than the past 2 centuries of paleontology. And, that is awesome.
