Description
This is me after getting home from the hospital yesterday.
The little cut under my eye is from a strap or the head clamp
that was used during the surgery. I have a bunch of them
little cuts on that side of my head.
The inside of that wrap when removed was caked with blood
The doctor needed almost 10 minutes to clean me up
after peeling that thing off.
I was doing laundry and the vent looks good going
into my head
This is that unwrapped.
The details:
Surgery BullshitSo I got unwrapped today and got all the details
from the doctor.
It wasn't good.
In fact it's pretty much the opposite of what I was expecting.
Real simple. In 2013 I had a tumor removed from my
inner ear. It wrecked my hearing.
Then I had a post op infection that lasted almost 3 full months.
After that I had to let the stuff heal and then a follow up
surgery was supposed to reconstruct as much of my hearing
as possible. That was delayed because my Dad passed away
and then my appendix exploded and had to be removed.
Yesterday when I was opened up the doctor found a new
tumor and the planned reconstruction got turned into a demolition.
That's why surgery was an hour longer then expected and
probably why I was in so much pain in recovery.
Originally surgery was supposed to be 3 to 4 hours but
ended up being right around 5. Plus an hour+ in recovery.
It was pretty bad so they gave me something, I dunno what, that
was really strong and had me still feeling the effects a good
seven hours l

Seriously, hope things improve. Lost the use of my legs just when they were getting strong, Fighting to stand and walk and regain at least some of what I lost, which, starting out crippled, wasn't all that much by normal standards. But for me it was like being superman. Good luck! You never know which way things will go, or when.

Oh no, if I went Van Gogh I would have just had them take both ears off.
Oh I already know where things go from here. It's all down hill until I got completely deaf unless
medicine improves to the point I can keep some hearing. That doesn't rule out more tumors either
or an infection that gets out of control and kills me. happy thoughts!

Keep the faith. It's a downhill ride all the way around, most just don't know it till it get's near the end. You have strength and a good sense of humor. (I hope that's humor. XD )

As far as I know everything healed up good.
MRI in a few months to make sure.
So if everything is good, no infections, regrowing tumors, or rogue skittles, I will not require any more surgeries.

In the joint they gave me something really good.
At home I have percocets
