i've always wondered if the runes used in the series are based on anything real or are just totally made up because... no nevermind. im gonna skip that rant and just leave it at this lol

Actually, I think that a few, like the second to the left of the bottom row (the one with the big X and pitchfork looking thing) are based off of celtic runes. Like that one, is a combination of "shield/block" and "life" so I would guess its a protection rune of some sort. Dunno about all, but I can bet that a few are based off of real runes.

yeah i could probably bet that they are based off something. In all my studies i have yet to see any quite so similar to these particular ones so i think its safe to assume generally they are made up... but then it leaves something to the imagination. they could very well be based off of something (though they dont look very celtic to me. ^^" lolz i do not claim to be an expert in anything but i am irish so there has always been that interest in such things lol)

Oh, man! That's the best!! I was working on my 1000 cranes, and wanted to draw and write things on all of them, so one that I did was all the words and dialog in chapter up to the point where Blaney knocks on the door

And there you have it. alot of them were just... background runes that weren't being used, but were technically there, so I included them.
