In no particular order or positions, here are 6 anime characters, each representing a shounen anime I loved watching (some as a kid and some a bit later in life). They all fought hard for the safety and happiness of the people around them and each of their anime are incredible in their own way. These are not necessarily the only guys I liked, but just the ones that first came to mind. I intend to do this again but with seinin characters next time, since I read a lot more of those nowadays.

First person to come up with all 6 character names gets a request! Try not to sponge off of other people's answers (I wont say who's right or wrong until we have a winner). I'd be surprised if anyone can guess that guy on the bottom right - really obscure and underground anime.

-Eikichi Onizuka from GTO. In incredible teacher (ex-terrifying gangster) who risked both career and life on many occasions to better the lives of his students. Growing up in a country where teachers would rather leave students to gang life and depression, Onizuka takes it upon himself to right the wrongs of the education system with his own unique style of teaching.

-Hanamichi Sakuragi from Slam Dunk. A highschool punk who picked up basketball to attain the love of his crush, but soon comes to love the sport and does his best to strengthen his teamates and himself.

-Renton Thurston from Eureka Seven. A young sky surfer who falls into love and war as a result of his heritage. He finds strength in his comrades and takes a journey into manhood as the pilot of the Nirvash to save the world from mysterious forces that would destroy it.

-Amuro Ray from Mobile Suit Gundam. A bright young boy who was raised in space but is forced into a brutal space war when he falls into the cockpit of an Earth Federation super-weapon: The RX-78-2 "Gundam". He protects his friends aboard the White Base with his innate skill and comes to discover what it means to be a soldier in this new universal century.

-Kenshiro from Hokuto no Ken. A kind-hearted martial artist who wanders the nuclear devastated world to bring balance to the forces of Hokuto and Nanto martial arts and to find his kidnapped fiancee. He makes and loses friends and enemies in his quest as the saviour of the century's end!

-Son Goku from Dragon Ball (Z). Just a really strong guy. You've probably never heard of him.
