In ancient times, She Ruled as the Goddess of Death of Atlantis. Upon the catastrophe the tore her civilization asunder, her black hair was dyed red with the blood of her people, whose souls, and names were counted, taken, and forgotten, and with them, and trace of her status as a Goddess of the Atlantean Underworld. With no Pantheon, she journeyed with the survivors of that Cataclysm, some to Egypt, where she became Nyphtis to the Egyptians, some to Mexico, where the descendants built a new home and spoke only in legend of their ancestral one, Aztlan. Even after the fall of the others, you cannot defeat Death, and so, rolling dice with the Gods who survived antiquity, she became charged with the souls of those who died at sea. For the Sea and the Land, are two different worlds.

centuries later, in 1664, a bold pirate captain named Greyhound, devised a wicked plan to take from himself a French Man of War, and would become captain of an 80 gun ship of the line. in collecting the souls, that died in the onslaught, she bestowed her favor on the bold pirate. giving him an ancient title, born by one of her two High Priests. the Pirate, became The Missionary of Death, proclaiming her power wherever he went, and reminding those who foolishly forgot. irnocally, the pirate's lover, Arabella Crackstone, would become the counterpart, The Herald of Death, proclaiming her arrival, to claim damned souls. Both pirates would name a ship after the lore of her old Atlantean Pantheon. Arabella's ship bore the name, Death's Herald, and Greyhound's new Ship of the line, the Sea Reaper. Until the sea boils, and the world ends, The Sea Reaper, That old Goddess of Atlantis, Egypt, and the Aztecs, will continue to reap the souls of those who die at sea, just as her counterpart reaps those who die on land. Even now, A Spanish Galleon sinks down, towards her embrace, and she waits with her trident, to do her task, as Death, the Grim Reaper of the Ocean.
