Description Something different. I usually don't photograph animals. I'm bad at it, I don't have a long lens and I don't like getting close to them because I don't want to stress them out. Those bisons however didn't give a fuck. They were just grazing at the side of the Alaska Highway. We saw quite a few that day. Some alone or in small groups, some in big groups (10+). This one was about 3-4 m away, literally at the side of the road. Don't worry, we stayed in the car (I'm not crazy) and were driving by slowly.

Haha thats awesome and I don't think Bisons
have a mean bone in their body, they are just like cows

Well, male ones (bulls) can be quite aggressive though. Bisons are also not the animals to run when they feel threatened. They will attack. I saw some docus with Bisons defending the calves against predators.

Those ones aren't bothered much be people as there aren't that many around usually.. but well and good you stayed in the car..they can be very dangerous, though this one doesn't look particularly large as bison go

No, this is one of the younger ones I think. There were bigger and smaller ones than this one.

Thank you! You just have to drive up to northern BC and they are all over the place. NW Territories would be a good place as well apparently. A guy told me that up there big herds often block roads for stretches of time.
