I felt like Emerald needed another redesign as well as a BIO update, so here we go!

Bio:
Emerald Blaze is Spike and Rarity's second foal and first daughter. As a foal, Emerald didn't like the whole fashion thing and prefer the life of a tomboy. However, one day, on Emerald's 8th birthday, at her party she entered the little Filly' room and overhears two of the party guests - a filly complaining to her mother about being at a party for an ugly dragon hybrid freak. But what really ticked her off the most was the mother saying she wanted the filly to be "friends" with Emerald just to get close to Rarity who's part of the Friendship council and might as well be at the peak of her Fashion Empire! At first, Emerald was ticked off at the mother and her daughter, but then consideration of the possibility that her mother might have bribed the party guests came to mind made her break down in sobs. Her imagination went into overdrive and she begun to question everything her mother had ever said to her. In a fit of anger and confusion, she called her mother Rarity a liar right to her face and ripped the dress the dress she made for her off her body while burning it in the process. Before Rarity could respond, Emerald ran straight to the Everfree Forest. And wouldn't you know it? She stumbles into a pack of Timberwolves! Luckily Star Shield had chased after her and after placing her safely on a Trudy tree branch, he used his advantages of flight, night vision, and his quick wit to lead the Timberwolves off a cliff. After that he convinced Emerald to return home as well as gave her a pep talk about what happened, but as he was leading her out of the forest, they ran into Emerald's Dad - Spike. After some scolding, when they returned home they were greeted by Sparkscale - Emerald's older brother. He yelled at Emerald for making their mother cry 'till Spike told him to go to his room, he then said to Emerald, "Your mother worked for a whole day on this... For you. And when she saw you ripped it off and actually burned it... Seeing somepony you love so much destroy something you made especially for them... Can you imagine how that must feel...?"
Spike left Emerald to ponder as he goes to comfort his wife. Emerald cried, feeling guilt claw at her. But as she looked at the dress that she burnt, she knew she had to make it right. And so, she fixed the dress! Or at least, she tried... She cut off the burnt fabric and replaced it with any pieces of fabric that came to close to the shade of pink of the dress. And when she was done, she confronted her mother while she wore what remained of the dress. Her tear-streaked faced mother was at first horrified by the mismatched of different types fabric sewed together, but when Emerald started sobbing and crying out sorry to her about how wrong she was and what she did to the dress, She hugged her daughter saying she forgives her and help her remake the dress.

Of course, she was grounded the day after for a whole month (Couldn't ground her that day sense it was her birthday). But during that time, Emerald worked as her mother's assistant. As she was working for her she started to gain a bit of appreciation for fashion 'till it started becoming a new-found passion! And when her ground was over, Rarity gave her daughter a reward - an emerald! Rarity thought that Emerald would eat like she usually does when she gives her gems as a treat, but this time Emerald decided she wanted to treasure it as she felt like it was a symbol of how she earned her redemption for the dress she ruined on her birthday. As she was admiring the gem, Emerald started scratching it with her claw 'till she started actually carving it 'till it was Heart-shaped and when she tried blowing the gemdust off, she instead blew fire at it! She panicked at first, thinking she was gonna ruin it! But it didn't. Instead, the gem glistened! Eagerly, Emerald ran to show her mother, but then her mother pointed to her flank and Emerald looked at it and saw something she couldn't believe! It was her Cutiemark! A glistening heart-shaped Emerald engulfed in flames! It was then Emerald knew, she was destined to be a jeweler!

Now Emerald Blaze works side-by-side with her mother at her boutique, making jewelry.

This represents her fiery heart and passion for jewelry. Her special talent is crafting jewelry by not only carving them with her dragon claws, but also smelting them in her fire in the correct shape and size she wants them to be. Not only that, she can infuse her unicorn magic in her flames, making the gems glisten. She's not as skilled in making dresses as she is at making jewelry though.

Personality:
Emerald is a graceful young lady that strives for perfection at what she does. You'd think she's just another version of Rarity? Wrong! Unlike Rarity, Emerald's not afraid of working up a sweat or getting her claws dirty. She's also not above getting into fights with ponies that make snide-comments about her or her family and friends. She also knows how to play rough with ruffians. So she appears to be a refined young lady, but is actually a tomboy at heart.
Although she doesn't have the same posh accent as Rarity, she does tend to act motherly towards her friends. Sometimes calling them "hun", "dear", or "sweety". Her motherly nature just makes it so easy for you to talk to her.
She also takes after her father - Spike - as well. Like him she can be very supportive and can act as the level-headed one of the group.
But overall, she's a mare that enjoys the gift of beauty in whatever form it takes. But if you were to ask her what style she likes best, she would say that she favors Eastern Equestrian fashion.

Relationships:
She close with her mother Rarity as a pupil as well as a daughter. They would have mother/daughter girl-talk while gem-hunting and/or as they work on an outfit together. Whenever Emerald tries making a dress while promising herself to finish it by herself, she ends up asking her mother for help, so she won't waste any fabric.

Her relationship with her father, Spike, is like how a Daddy's Girl treats her old-ma-, er, Daddy-drake? I don't know... Anyway! It's because of him, that she got into comics (which also led her to manga), which made her want to make costumes/cosplay based on the super heroes. They would regularly geek-out over the characters and plot lines.

As for her brother, Sparkscale , they have the typical brother/sister relationship. They can regularly get into arguments over the smallest things like, "Who gets the last gem?", "Who's turn is it to clean the bathroom?" And of course Sparkscale would pull out the "I'm the eldest" card. But they do have their moments of care for each other like if Emerald gets snubbed by her date, Sparkscale would comfort her and plot revenge against the poor stallion. He would also go to her for the designs for the armor he makes. He can forge them well and make them effective, but can't really come up with a good style for them. 'Course he would have to leave out the gems that Emerald sketched in, so the jewels won't weigh the guards down.

Emerald Blaze absolutely adores her baby sister, Pearl . She would coo at how adorable Pearl is. Kinda like how Rarity would adore how cute Spike was while he was still a baby dragon. Except, Emerald as well as Rarity would dress Pearl up in dresses and jewelry like a Barbie doll. Pearl knows they mean well, but is pretty much tired of all the coddling and dress-ups. So Emerald and their mother, Rarity, are pretty much the main reasons Pearl is a tomboy.

Emerald's best friend would be Harmony Shine . Their hangouts would consist of talking. Harmony would talk about the recent book she's been reading while Emerald would tell her about the customers. Harmony is also Emerald's #1 customer as she would model her personal projects as she tries to get better with making dresses. Harmony would also pour her stress about expectations about her being a princess and how much pressure she's under out to Emerald without even realizing it as she fits her with dresses. Emerald, of course is a real supportive friend as she acts as "Spike" to Harmony's "Twilight" and tries to tone down her stress. Either preparing a paper bag for Harmony to hyperventilate in, or invite her on a day to the spa and if Harmony says anything like if something unexpected comes up, Emerald would silence her by laying her claw on Harmony's muzzle and say, "Hun, you NEED this..."

Though she has dated stallions before, neither of them has ever made her felt the way Star Shield has! He was the first colt to have called her beautiful when they were foals. She tries to suppress her feelings towards him sense he's the older brother of one of her best friends, Harmony Shine (her adoptive brother, but not any less awkward). But this pent-up attraction towards the batpony prince works against her as she blushes intensely to the point she avoids him. This led to Star Shield thinking that perhaps Emerald doesn't like him. With that and the fact he has seen her date other boys, can you blame him for not getting the clue that she's head over heels in love with him?
