Description Fan art inspired by the movie Ghost in the Shell (1995) all respect to Mamoru Oshii and Masamune Shirow for their great inspirations.
Painted during some free time just for relax and nostalgia. I was very impressed by that insane scene when Motoko fights this large tank.
I've played around with coloristic ideas, hope you not get too offended by them.
I know its a detailed film, so I tried to keep up with that. This was really a tricky piece for me, but I've had fun with it.

Working now. And I'm so glad, it's fantastic. One of the best GitS pieces I've ever seen.

I admire how much you stuck to original details in the film; the metal barbs sticking out of the pillar is a great touch.

Kudos to you for being an artist that appreciated the detail of that movie and didn't just decide to draw a sensualized picture of Motoko
That being said, you did an awesome job of carrying this epic scene onto the medium of painting. Wonderful texture qualities, the water is believably choppy and the splashes from the bullets flying have likewise realistic particle effects. Speaking of your grasp of small particles flying, it is once again demonstrated with the pillar being ground into a powder by the rounds and the blue sparks thrown off by its inner workings all in a realistic manner.
Again, rather than focusing on Motoko as a pin-up, you've illustrated her with only the detail needed as she takes cover there, shrowded in dramatic shadowing. The rest of the open room is suitably obscured in an off-focus manner while all the action is up front, with a nod towards the mechanized tank causing the mayhem.
Once again, you speedpainters amaze me

What a fantastic piece. You really captured the scene and the mood. How she struggled so much with this fight that was stacked so strongly against her. How you played down any detail in the background to emphasize the battle. This is just such a very well crafted artwork.

Excellent piece! I love the way you've rendered out this key moment in the Ghost in the Shell myth. beautiful.

I suppose, though, if I were to critque anything about this piece, it would be the pillar getting shot up. Maybe more sparks and debris flying off it might be cool...just to draw the eye to the action in the scene. Regardless, this is a great painting.
