Day 16 of Sketchtember, sketch #10

As a theme I'm sketching young Japanese people modelling their street fashion, photographed for Japanese magazine "FRUiTS Magazine".
This is a great opportunity for me to train myself more, for instance:
*Draw on a daily basis, instead of whenever...
*Dusting off my skills when it comes to observational drawing.
*Increasing my drawing speed.

It's double trouble again! These best friends look so cute together, as well as very colourful.
My biggest issue here were their faces. Nao-chan (left) has her head in a certain angle that made me really struggle, particularly with the placement of the eyes. I'm not satisfied with the result, but in the end I gave up with trying to change it (using my eraser too many times was already starting to damage the paper).
Rika's smiling face was also very difficult to capture. Copying that facial expression from a photo can easily turn a bright smile into a grimace, and therefore make your drawing look really artificial. I think I managed to reign it in without losing her intense happy smile.
