This entry did not win. That is ok because I still got a cool drawing from it.

This piece was created for a contest that Shonen Jump is holding. The challenge is to draw your favorite Bleach character as a musician. The entries will be judged by Shonen Jump judges based on following the rules, the potrayal of Shonen Jump and Bleach spirit, and quality of the art. The top ten will be posted on the Shonen Jump website and the people can vote for their favorite. The winner will receive a custom Bleach-designed guitar with Kubo Tite's signature.

I am not a musician. I can hit the power button on a radio and that is about it. My brother, on the other hand, is, as he put it once, a guitar god. He loves to play his guitar and quite frankly, he is really good at it. I knew I wouldn't enter this contest for myself but if he wanted the guitar, I would give it my best shot. Sure enough, he said he would love to have one, so here we are.

I pondered the pose for this for a while. Suddenly, a vision of my bro in this position came up and I instantly knew, this is what I should do. I quickly sketched it up and began to work with it in Illustrator. I came up with three different ideas all based on the same pose:

This was the third and final.

Ah yes, this idea came to me much later. However, it was only of Ichigo's design. Not the background. This idea was to have it full color and have Hollow Ichigo's reflection in the guitar. Yes, I love subtleties. So I completed that but I could not come up with a background. The random idea to make Zangetsu into his shadow, with Zan holding the guitar no less. Stuck that in there and still had no ideas. I just threw this together and decided it wasn't too bad. It is simple enough.

This version won my poll, so I will be sending this version in, but it seems that there wasn't one of the three that was left out. All received some love.
