I love this. It looks very Egon Schiele-esque (a very good thing). Only difference is that there seems to me more seaching lines that Schiele's very deliberate lines, but I think that they really for for this piece and almost give it a sense of movement. Really well done.

Thanks for commenting! Yeah, I love Schiele and adore the way he draws. He kinda inspired this as well, I tried putting a little white around the outline of the figure like some of his drawings have.

I totally noticed the Schielesque white outline... and the oversized hands, and the colored paper background. I told you I'm a schiele-nut. Actually I like most of the work of the Vienna Secessionists, except for Schiele's mentor Klimt (I only dig a few of his watercolors.) Anyway, before I forget I just wanted to mention the following things:
1. Thank you for the multiple faves, the great comments, and the . I really appreciate all of them.
2. Keep up the amazing work, I am going to start watching you as soon as I finish this message, and can't wait to see where inspiration takes you.
3. Have you ever heard of the work of Edward Penfield? He was an American artist/designer/art director at the turn of the 20th century. I think you might really enjoy some of his work.

Dang, I'm too transparent Yeah, I love his work, especially his simple life drawings. I had the good fortune to attend an exhibition in Vienna last year, where they showed some of his paintings, which were amazing. They also had my favourite painting of his, [link] , which was just so intense to see in real life. The brightness of the colors is just wonderful. I actually kind of like Klimts stuf as well, the only problem is that when you come to Vienna, you really can't escape all the hullabaloo they make around him. If you go into an art gallery, there are tables full of merchandize, like cups and t-shirts with his paintings, it just makes you cringe. It's kinda hypocritical when you think about the fact that nobody in Vienna appreciated his work in his lifetime. So yeah, some of his stuff is very over the top and too shiny for my taste, but he was an interesting man so I appreciate him
And basically I love everything to do with Jugendstil/Art Nouveau

Well, thanks for watching me back I appreciate your comments!
And thanks for the name, I didn't know him before, I will have to have a look! (but I regognize that poster with the black cat from somewhere, hmm )
