Description He knew what he had to do. But now that he was there, he wasn't so sure. It seemed such a pity. But... if the treasure was destroyed, they'd go away, wouldn't they?

I was browsing some art tutorial site when I ran across a tutorial on drawing rocky landscapes (this one ). It immediately reminded me of a work in progress of mine, in which I used a trick to get some rough rocky cliff walls, and the unsatisfatory result it brought me. This particular work is still unfinished, because I just hate the rocky walls and can't stand to look at them. Still, seeing that tutorial made me want to try it a bit. The tutorial was on open air, faraway rocky landscapes, and my paticular problem was in close-by natural stone settings, but I thought I could apply the general tips, and so I opened a new photoshop file and sketched a little scene, related to the other incomplete drawing.

At the same time, I felt like using some of the tips in another tutorial, this time on hair, and apply it to the whole body of the character (You can find this tutorial at [link] ).

I really like the results. And to think this was just an exercise on rocky walls...

As for the scene, this is part of a storyline that just showed up in my brain one day and decided to stay. I'm not sure what to do with it, though. It's good, but unfortunately it's just a mid-way part and it's missing the before, the after and the setting. I've been tempted, for a while, to make it a fanfic, since there are enough series with the necessary mountain villages, evil worldwide corporations and rag-tag team of heroes and, since my mind insists in displaying the mountain boy as Flashback!Cloud (the one with the ponytail), I'm sorely tempted to make it a Final Fantasy VII Alternate Universe fanfic.

Only I'm already writing one of those. Completely different from this one. And I'm already dragging along the second chapter (why are the first chapters so difficult to write? ).

So what should I do? Write two fics at the same time?

wow, very intricate. the walls remind me of those caverns you go on tours through and they point out the five types of stalactites.

Maybe not five. I don't know. There are those curtainy ones and the lumpy ones and the pointy deadly ones, etc.
