Description OK - moving back in time to Finwë. Finwë was the father of Fëanor, Fingolfin and Finarfin.

Here we have:

Finwë at the top. Then on the left we have Indis (the yellow / light blue circle) who was Finwë's second wife, and her children, Fingolfin and Finarfin (their own pages are [link] and [link] ). On the right, we have Miríel, Finwë's first wife, and his eldest son, Fëanor (his own page is [link] )

Oh, this is absolutely marvelous! I was wondering where I would be able to find someone who did artwork of the heraldry used in Middle-Earth, and it seems that I have hit the jackpot.

I have always been interested in heraldry, both within Middle-Earth and outside of it, and to see that there is an artist who enjoys drawing the heraldry of Tolkien's world is really a delightful discovery.

I must ask: have you drawn artwork of Ereinion Gil-galad's heraldic symbol? He is one of my favorite Elves, you see.

Oh yay! I'm glad you like them! I love heraldry too - and I'm planning on creating a whole "book" of the heraldry of Arda, page by page, probably very slowly! I'm working back in time at the moment back to page 1 lol - going back through the Maiar and Valar. Then I'll go forwards onto the Men

Wonderful, excellent. I put you on my watchlist so I could be kept up-to-date of your progress on your encyclopedia.

Oh, and just a question: do you just plan to make your encyclopedia consist of images, or do you plan to put information on the nitty-gritty of Ardan heraldry, such as the meanings of the shapes, colors, etc., and how to make one's own? I am rather curious on my part because while I am no artist, I would like to see if I could put together a few of my own - in my head, anyway.

At any rate, I wish you luck with this particular project, and with the others to come.

Definitely pictures - but really I'd like to do some text too - hmm maybe a page of text to each page of images. Wow - this project is getting bigger and bigger - and more and more interesting!

Maybe I could do a few pages up front with "rules and regulations" and the basics of their design ... yes ... that would be fun *adds to list of things to do*

Might I be so bold as to make further suggestions?

For the text on each page, you could probably write a short history on the owner of the heraldry, and then do more on what the heraldry actually means, such as the connection of particular shapes and colors and such to the person who used that symbol.

And yes, the "rules and regulations" page/s on the front part of the encyclopedia is a very good idea as well. I think it would be of great help, particularly to other artists, who wish to make their own heraldry for the Elves and/or Men who are supposed to have them but do not. Also, it would be helpful for those who are writing fan fiction, and would like to create their own heraldry for their characters, if they so wish.

Of course, these are just suggestions. Your projet is such an interesting one, that I simply cannot resist making suggestions that I hope will be able to make it a better and more interesting one. I truly hope that you do not mind what I have said.

At any rate, I shall again wish you good luck on this endeavor, and I hope that the results of it will come out soon.

please do! I love suggestions! and its far too big a project to get right totally on my own

A short history of the people? Wow! That would be amazing, wouldn't it? I *like* that idea! If I get going on the rules and regulations section, would you be kind enough to take a look through and tell me what you think?

It would be a supreme honor, as well as a supreme pleasure. I am quite flattered that you offered.

I would be happy to look over whatever you have written, and I would also be happy to edit it as well, though I cannot do much in terms of offering information. I have taken a keen interest in your project because it tackles a subject that I have very limited knowledge of; hence, the information will come from you.

I am happy and flattered that you have taken my suggestions seriously. Again, I will say that I would be happy to help in any way that I can, so if you want me to look over what you have, I would be very much happy to do so.

Well, I've decided to try and write some "guidelines" for this while I'm away on holiday - and it would be great if you'd take a look at them when I get back! Its so nice to know that someone else is interested in this pet project of mine - I didn't really think anyone would be interested! Not that I care, *I* love it intensely

I would be happy and honored to take a look at it when you get back. I will send you a private note with my email address on it, and then, when you have the time, just send it there and I will look at it as soon as I may.

They are also pretty damn good crafts people
