This is a remastered screenshot from the video game Super Metroid. Released in 1994 Super Metroid featured an open world where bounty hunter Samas Aran must defeat Mother Brain to keep the galaxy safe from improper use of Metroids. There are also space pirates there looking to use Metroids to gain power. I think that is right.
Super Metroid's game style has lived on in many great Castlevania games. These Metroidvania games are amoungst my favorite, but Super Metroid still stands out as the one I'd most like to see in high definition.
In order to give the screenshot a 16x9 aspect ratio this is not an actual screenshot from the game, but made up of several screenshots and sprite sets. Included in this scene is a metroid, which is not accurate to the game, but believable since there wouldn't be a logical reason that one could not wander into Mother Brain's room (And I really wanted to remake the metroid).

I have a question, I watched one of your speedpaint videos, and I noticed that you take various photos, arrange them and paint over them so they have the result you are looking for, so in which category will stand it for? This is really cool (kinda like the new DOOM). You should consider making a platform game of it, even possibly under a different name with a slightly altered main character to not have Nintendo issues. I'm pretty sure people would back you up on kickstarter.

I would play an HD remake of this game, and one of my favorites too.. The visual are outstanding, and very resourceful photo used to make this images of each item. The photo speed art video was(*is) awesomesuace.

*Yeah, the space pirates were working with Mother Brain, if I remember correctly, but I digress.
Love how you made the "Rinkas" all "fiery" in this, it is an interesting take on them, though I don't remember them being fired from the turrets or cannons firing them, as it kinda looks like they are here, but eh whatever. 
While it would have made things a real pain in the butt in the actual games themselves, I dig the addition of a Metroid in the room, it is a nice touch! And it too looks amazing!

I like your art style but I don't feel like you're really paying homage to the game so much as change it. I was under the impression that Nostalgia was remembering memories of older things you loved. Of course the argument could be made this is how you saw it. Otherwise I just feel like people are just being graphics whores lol Super Metroid was and still is perfect. Stop making the purist cry lol

*standing ovation* Super Metroid was ...is my most favorite SNES game and iΒ΄m a big fan of the Scifi-Stuff they put into the game including the music.
I love the light-highlights u made on the steel after u put a new light in the scene.
And the samus suit..out of a motorcycle? are u kiddin me?!!?!

probably my favorite game of all time or at least in my top 5, and still have to have a play through at least once a year or so. I'd SOOO sell my body for an actual HD remake of this game (sigh) c'mon Nintendo you would make loads of cash if you remastered such a classic game ( I digress )Β
