Leaves drifted through the light breeze. The sun shined through the clouds in the sky. It was all a great day for a horse show. Evalyn followed the path back to the trailers. Keeping her head up, she watched out for the people, dogs, and horses moving all around her on the grounds.

As she started to see Foxwood Meadow's trailer, she could see the shiny coat of her favorite mare. Hunter was there too, grooming and shining up his stallion. Evalyn smiled. She was already having a great time with Hunter. Plus Ellen and Tye were not being obnoxious...yet.

Hunter turned and gave a huge grin. His eyes sparkled blue, deep blue. "So what did they say?" he asked, still grinning.

Evalyn was still lost in his eyes and she blushed when he gave her a funny look. "Oh sorry! I...uh...well...they said they will be starting the pleasure in an hour so we should get ready and head out there."

"Alright." he said with an amused look. "Oh! I have a surprise for you!" He jumped into the dressing room in the trailer. Evalyn could hear him digging around inside. Then she heard a zipper being unzipped. "Got it!" his muffled voice called out.

Hunter came back out with a large plastic bag. Opening it, he pulled out a new, maroon horsemanship shirt. It was dazzling in the sun and every swarovski crystal glinted.

"Oh...my...Hunter! It's gorgeous!" Evalyn felt the fabric and admired her new shirt.

"New shirt for the new year!" Hunter looked pleased with her reaction.

"Thank you! I can't believe it!" She tackled him with a huge hug. "Thank you, thank you!"

"No problem Ev. You go get ready and I'll tell Ellen."

Taking the shirt with her she climbed into the dressing room inside the trailer. She pulled the new horsemanship over her head and pulled the stretchy black pants over it. Grabbing her belt, she moved it through the loops and buckled it as tight as it would go. Evlayn easily zipped up her chaps, the skill only achieved through many years of horse showing. After checking her hair, she slipped on her boots, rolled the bottom of her chaps up so they would not get dirty, and pinned on her hat.

Stepping back out into the light, she felt beautiful in her new shirt. She always love the pleasure outfits, especially the maroon ones that matched her mare's coat perfectly. Hunter had tacked up her mare for her and she walked over and patted her mare.

"You. miss Rambling Red Vixen, are going to give those judges a rambling good time!"
