Description (2006) 9"x 3", Size 15 seed beads (satine bone white, opaque brown, blue-lined teal, green-lined transparent), bone beads, banded brown agate beads, faceted green chalcedony beads, nylon thread.

I did this one with four colors instead of my usual three, which makes for more of a color gradation in the flame patterns. I also went ahead and documented the process of making this bracelet, so you can see the step-by-step stages in the next deviation. [link]

It can be. I typically offer the wing bracelets for $90. Let me know if that would be within your range.

*wince* It isn't right now, but it might be in the future. Don't get me wrong here- I know it's worth that. I just don't have 90 bucks to spend on myself right now.
Thanks for the answer tho, I'm definitly keeping it in mind.

Ellygator In reply to LadyBlacksword [2007-01-20 19:42:25 +0000 UTC]

That's okay. I know it's not a small amount to ask and I'm glad you understand. It's for the many hours of work that went into it, rather than the materials which are just glass beads. This is why I'm not doing this as my business.

Still, I'll be around for a while I'd think. Just let me know when you're ready.

Trust me, I know the "great, I put 5 bucks and 7days into this, and nobody counts the 7 days in the price" feeling. I'm a jewelry designer for my day job, sort of. I just don't sell enough, so it's not really a job. I'll have to take pics of some of my recent stuff.
You know, if you like, we could consider the "trade" idea. If you aren't interested, that's ok, I know plenty of artists who don't trade.

Well, if you're planning to post some of your stuff I'd certainly have a look! Principally I'm open to trades.

I know it's been awhile, but I remember talking to you about working up a design for a couple of matching cuff-like bracelets or some beaded panels for leather-worked bracers, and I promised to post up pics of a carved piece I thought you might like- well, if you are still interested in that idea, I finally have the pics up: :[link]

This is beautiful! I'd still be interested, and I'm thinking the spiral design of the front view would translate very well. If you let me know a bit more about size, i.e. how big, what kind of circumference, whether panels or whole cuffs and also whether you prefer delica beads or 15 size seed beads, I could come back with a preliminary design and also a price estimate and we'd take it from there.

*blink* I'm feeling dense right now, but you did catch that the carving is up for trade, right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ellygator In reply to LadyBlacksword [2007-09-03 12:35:29 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I'm the one who didn't catch on - I'd loooove to do a trade for this! So please let me know some specs for your bracelets so I can go to work and earn this beauty!

So you do like it? I remember you saying before that you liked Jet and amber, which made me think of this right off....
Question: where are you located, and are you willing to cover the shipping? (I can pack it well enought to get it anywhere in one piece.)

Ice Queen Chic. Actaully, it's a really nice versitile color mix, it could be very cold or very California, depending on what you wear it with.(I'm seeing faces in the swirls again, demons and sprites and elder gods....it's kind of hypnotic really...)

OoooOoooOOOohhh.. o.o The pattern is hynotizing and intricate, in a really pretty way. I love the color scheme you chose--neutral enough for it to fit well with most outfits. The little pale green beads are a really nice touch, by the way... just an endearing detail. I really like the shade of white you chose, too. When I saw the spread out version, I couldn't imagine how you'd put it on, and the catch is really cleverly done. I'd totally wear this!

Love the shapes, and also the little pale green (chalcedony?) beads. There's something about them that just softens up the whole thing a little and makes it just perfect

Ellygator In reply to talyra [2006-10-13 12:53:41 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! And yes, planning the beads and selecting colors for the connectors is always a last step that can really reinforce a color scheme or make a bracelet look blah!
