Description This is a somewhat loser beading technique that looks better with seed beads than with delicas. For an example check out the "Gothic Choker" [link]

The pattern is asymmetrical and works quite fast, because the beads are not too densely packed.

I read this and wanted to reply "Wow"(I imagine this is a common reaction)!
Well done, good work: concise and useful... hopefully many people should learn from it (including myself).

This one is really easy to understand. Beading is so interesting thanks for helping. The most beading I have every done was bead animals. xD But I have on more question what type of string do you use? And what type of beads do you suggest. I tryed with my metalic plastic beads, but they didn't work to well. (I'm such a kid xD) Thanks so much for your help I always love learning new ways to create kool stuff.

No problem, I'm glad it's okay to read and follow. I mostly use transparent polyester thread that you can pick up from any sewing store. For beads I use size 11 and size 15 seed beads. We have a beadstore in town, but I also get a lot over the internet. These suppliers are pretty good. Just look for rocailles or seed beads under size 11 (15s are very small and fiddly, I'd try them after I'd feel comfortable with the 11s)

Yeah, it's a fabulous stitch for that because it has a little elasticity. I bet they loved them!

I made mine with a tiger-tail base and beading thread, so they had the strength where they needed it around the actual collar, and the movement in the dangles so it didn't look too stiff...

Hiya! I'm going through all your patterns now, coz I want to learn some new stitches--- especially Peyote!
You are really good at doing tutorials. The insturctions are so clear & understandable! Thank you so much for sharing!

I'm glad. It's always difficult to really put yourself into the shoes of someone who hasn't done a pattern and figure out how to best describe it to them. So I'm glad that you say you can follow it well. I teach bead classes on occasion, and I think the experience has helped at lot.

You really are a good teacher!
If I ever get lucky enough to be in Texas, I will *definitely* be stopping at one of your classes!

Cool. I think this is the only tutorial I've ever seen on this type of art. Gotta be the only one at DA at least. Be interesting to see some work that was created from this tut.

Thanks! I actually teach on occasion at our local bead store. So I've written instructions for some time now. I guess you are right about the scarcity of this type of help. Most folks will sell instructions like that for money in books or by paid download. But I think I didn't invent Brick or Peyote, anonymous ethnic bead artists did, so I can't make money off of the info.
