On the fall of Constantinople 29 May 1453, first days of June Turks celebrated the victory with a grand feast, but young sultan Mehmed had to protect the conquered Empire and thus he had to execute the head officials among the Greek and Romans, because they posed a threat and treason, among them was Loukas Notaras and his elder sons. They were executed on 4th June.
