I watched a man today, learn of his son's passing in Iraq. Outside the clothing, this man in your portrait could have very well been this man I saw today. How close our lives touch, so many miles away.

the idea is unique; I love the photo for the fact that drawing the elderly can be difficult to shade & the symbolism behind it. great technique & shading!

I do agree 100%..

But i could not add more dark as the paper was not accepting..

Thank you very much darling. The only thing bothering me is the scratchy feeling of the drawing and the tones. But I will have to live with it..

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Chamaelirium In reply to emaghrabi [2006-08-07 01:05:34 +0000 UTC]

it does have a 'lighter' feeling to some of your others, but I think that contributes to the overall appearance well.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

emaghrabi In reply to Chamaelirium [2006-08-07 03:32:46 +0000 UTC]

You are right.. I feel that too.
The darks always help more realism and with this paper the dark was a lil difficult.

Not very much proud out of this actually. I feel that there are a lot of things to adjust yet, but the paper did not help much.

Glad to hear from you pal..
