A drawing and painting test. It was frustrating at first but then I started to figure it out!I'm still trying to figure out how to do different skin colors, though, without making them look weird... I wish her skin was darker...

Yes I agree. OTL I'm having a really hard time getting her skin tone right because it's not overly dark but more like a dark tan. Unfortunately, whenever I try to paint it I either make it too light or it ends up looking gray and sickly so I'm frustrated. I guess I just need to get more practice when it comes to skin tones.

Have you tried starting with a burnt sienna tone and then just either lightening it or darkening it from there? It's a great base color that I use often with both paints and watercolors. It's a bit vivid, but you can either mute it or counterbalance it easily.
