"SIR! I'M DETECTING AN ENERGY SIGNATURE JUST BEHIND THE ICE PLANET! ITS A TRIDENT BATTLESHIP SIR!" The sensor operator yelled out across the bridge, the entire crew stopping in horror at the discovery, Captain Hollex, a Cylaurian who had been fighting with the Union for many years scowled and shook his head.

"Damn..." He assessed his situation, his ship while formidable would have a tough time engaging a Trident class in combat. However he had no choice the battleship would chase them down if they ran, He only had his ships and 2 Razor escorts plus the Bullet KKVs.

"Listen up! We are going in, fully attack! Weapons active and shields up and launch fighters! We shall show them that the Union is no empire to be ambushed!" The hum of the shields filled the bridge and all along the Interdictor cruiser massive doors retracted, large Mass Drivers and more moving into firing positions, the two Razor class cruisers coming about to bring their own smaller armaments to bear.

"Lets show these dogs how to figh..." He was interrupted.

"ENERGY SPIKES DETECTED-" The sensor operator didn't have time to finish his sentence before the Goliath one of the two Razor escorts exploded in a flash of light. The Tachyon Arrows slicing clean through the ship and ripping it apart as the wreck merely exploded.

"BY CREATION RETURN FIRE! RETURN FIRE!" Hollex shouted, the rumble through the ship of the weapons fire made him feel slightly better as thousands of rounds, lasers, missiles and plasma shots flew out in return, the two small fleets closing at rapid speed to engage up close. All along the Capitol battleship its shields glowed brightly as round after round impacted, the internals showing signs of internal explosions as some of the Phase missiles bypassed its defences and detonated inside the battleship but it wasn't enough.

"ENERGY SPIKE" The yell came again as the other Razor class the Intrepid was caught head on and merely dissipated. The ship being rendered into atoms by the horrifically powerful FTL weapon systems. Hollex own ship the Sentinel continued to fire as it came into broadside position, the battleships shields visibly straining under the barrage of shots as fighter began to engage one another out in open space, the Bullet KKVs ramming the Capitol battleship and causing its shields to flare wildly.

"Enemy turrets are turning to line up shots! Sir im reading energy spikes!" the sensor operator called out visibly terrified. Hollex felt a deep dread inside his chest as the Tachyon Arrow turrets lined up to fire.

"BRACE FOR IMPACT!"
