coming from you that means alot. lol you are like a modeling GOD to me.
anyways the Stryker is a big failure of military design but i really like how it looks. this project was a big challenge for me but i was able really increase my skills throu this build.

Aw, thanks! But nah, I'm no modeling god-- otherwise I'd be able to actually get some stuff finished at a faster rate than one model per year (I;m getting slower with age). lol Sorry, I've been away. That damn project has been killing me-- but I should be back more often to check out your work!

Ah, well thankee! When I finally put this current stupid project to bed within the next couple weeks, I'll be getting back to tank building with a vignette of a King Tiger in snow. Hopefully, that'll turn out well (crosses fingers).

yea thats the one thing about models, they can take a ton of time. a simple bare bones kit takes me around 20-30 hours, something detailed like this Stryker takes over 80.

yea its something you have told me on more than one occasion but i often forget or get lazy. one this one i remembered some spare photo etched ones i never use and i gotta say the effect is quite cool IRL. its something ill have to remember going forward(maybe make them outta card stock next time)
anyways thanks again for both the idea and compliment.

No problem...
I use to use empty toothpaste tubes, the material they were made of was very malleable and the right thickness. Cut into thin strips, it looked very convincing as tie-downs.
I'm not sure if tooth-past tubes are still made of that same stuff though.

I think there now made of plastic, but what I'm talking about was some kind of medal. Don't think there made that way anymore.
Maybe some kinds of ointment tube similar to this... [link]
Empty of course.
