Introduciiiiiinnng Lox's competitor, STEF. Finally!Edit: HE HAS A PAK I JUST FORGOT IT
I was supposed to submit this earlier, but here it is, in all it's late un-glory.
Ok, I look at it now, and I'll tell you, I see so many mistakes in it, I just have to say, this page to me could have been done better. I liked the last panel though. But hey! It's my first comic!
Uhhmm. What else to say? I'm working on the other page, it's nearly done. Whoopie. Hope I don't bore you.

So much for civility. Alas. But I like your character's on-the-spot analysis of his opponent. It's the whole "Sherlock Holmes" treatment!

Assuming that most other contestants get their ideas of Blood-Sports to involving instant killings and liters of fake blood splashed around the place, I figured a more intelligible beating - with a surprising bloody ending - would be a different twist to the competition

haha! thats funny when Lox was surveying his opponent he said " slanted eyes. no funny business" lol i dunno, it just made me laugh at that random line. and the next square when it shows that irkens tatoo, u made it look so cool! XD the blur effect makes it look all awesomeness when it focuses on the tatoo!! aww, and on the bottom panel when lox says "evening! shall we introduce ourselves before battle?" he looks so cute! snd formed! snd his anteneas are sticking up! XD

Yes, since he's such a crappy fighter, he has his other things that he's good at he can use to an advantage
That's right! Normally his antennae are down and droopy but to be friendly he's got them up

You just seem to have a sense for it. Call it a sixth sense or a talent or something else.. I don't know. xD But I'm not flattering. I just know that when I try to make a comic ( and I HAVE tried, several times ) I always make it look like an epic failure. 
I always end up rooting for the bad guys.

This is an excellent piece, you already showed me it before you submitted it. I really love it, but what happened to the blur on panel 7? I think it's so undetailed that a blur would have been very effective to focus on Lox here.
I love the last panel and the second to last panel the best they look amazing! Hilarious looks like that guy fell off from the audience! XD

That's right! I should have shown you lineart first, because I'm going to be so heartbroken later when someone tells me something looks wrong P: Anyway I've 8 pages altogether now, since 4 are all rough sketches.
Ahh.. gee, see I was going to reblur it when I was in PS but I was very frustrated with putting the font in, I think it slipped my mind. Or something, I don't know, because I did forget it completely! Gah, I'll will use the blur technique again because it sure does take away the attention from the in-proportionate background!

Great detail on everything
I like the Irken that fell out of the stands especially, along with the billboards and ads thrown in XD
Plus, I looked at the background of Stef a little beforehand just out of curiousity, and I you did an amazing job with pointing out the little details that make him unique, like the custom weaponry and that weird crystal-thingy...can't wait to see his ALTERNATE PERSONALITIES AND THE NEXT PAGE!!

So far the pages look good to me. My only complaint is that sometimes the text is a bit hard to read. Having a black glow behind light text and a light glow behind dark text would fix that in two shakes of a lamb's tail.
And does Stef not have a PAK on purpose?

Hmm, yes. I used to use glows for text, but see I already use glowy text to determine he's thinking in his mind. I was hoping that the speech bubbles could fix that but I don't think I was doing a good job with it. I think perhaps making it less seethrough might make it a bit better?

Ah, so that's what the glow meant. ^^ I was wondering why you were using it like that. I'm used to the thought-clouds when it's unclear, but the way you've done it so far makes it obvious just by the positioning and the pairing with the image.
Yeah, I think making them more opaque would certainly help.

Yes, see I drew Lox first because I was still talking to the owner of Stef about what he wears - I found out what was in the ref was actually what comes OUT of his PAK. Like a battle armor, so I had to redo it on the paper and.. forgot the PAK.

personally i don't like the last panel, the pink'ish background doesn't let me concentrate on the lazer beam. but the whole thing looks nice.

and well, it does depend on personality. i also have some not really tough guys who are just total sweethearts, trying to find out things their own way xD.there's always something about a guy lol.

well, they thought that there is a miserable chance of zim winning, so they don't lose their money anyway. turned out.. differently. i think this episode also has the only "close to fatal/finished at the most curious moment" ending

You mean the ending, like how Zim got sent to the sun with the guy who won the bet? XD That's a funny way to describe that ending, I just say it's a weird one were Zim probably gets killed in the end XDD
