Description A subject that should be abused now more than ever. After the London bombings, muslims, ordinary people are gonna be frowned upon, looked down or just be feared. This is what I truly hate about terrorism (I'm not counting the death), the creation of hypocrism. Because I come from a muslim country, I know what it's like to be seen as a terrorist even when you don't necessaraly believe in God (I'm proud of nationality but I still don't go ahead telling everyone I'm turkish and I don't even look it apparently so I've come accross this problem once or twice)

Every little child will not grow up to be a terrorist just because they live in an islamic country.

Just something to think about.

My lovely model is Ceren.

i agree with you so much. and can relate to the problem of being seen as a terrorist, when i was little after 9/11 i had a few problems with people well hating me cause i am half arab, odd that people could hate me so much even though i was just a very little kid.

I really really love this. Just the entire look of it is amazing. I also really really REALLY love the lighting in it. Going with the terroristic theme, the lighting kind of looks like the light given off from a bomb blast and then casts the shadow, it's just me. But yeah, good job!

Wonderful, It's just the true
I can't really understand that, because I'm french and Catholic, But we see that, and it's very stupid, because the next terrorist may be an european or an american, soo... But humans are like that, and I think we can't change this reaction after a tragedy... So...

very powerfull message..

It is very sad that terror is now linked to islams and muslims.

Those who used the name of God to justify their barbaric acts should not be called muslims.

The situation you've put each of them in-- the coffee cup, the doll. Beautiful-- in some interesting way that I cant describe. You've brought the full meaning of your concept and have simply said it.

I'm glad you say what you want-- too few people do so these days.

Hmm,I don't know something bothers me about this pic(or perhaps as a art student I sometimes don't always understand photography in the art scene)but it's still actually good, you could really use this at an art convention like the art cologne or so.
Keep it up!

yeah man i definitely agree with you here. i think more than ever we as americans, we as a whole nation, changed after 9/11. how could it not happen? when the identities of the terrorists who were responsible came out, their neighbors came out and they all said the same thing..."he was such a good person..." "i don't even believe it..." i think really that's what it is. for me personally i know that's what it is. i havent ever really told anyone this, but i am guilty of thoughts similiar to the ones you speak of. i mean i know that the percentage of muslims who actually become terrorists is a very small portion, this is true. the muslims, the extremists, represent a very small portion of the muslim religion. but i think it comes down to the fact that you don't know who is a terrorist and who is not. you look at other conflicts, other problems, in a war it's easy to tell your enemy apart from everyone else. in terrorism it is nearly impossible. there is no badge, no isignia, nothing that says: "hello, i am a terrorist!" that's why for a lot of people in the world they automatically categorize all muslims underneath the terrorist umbrella. as stupid, and ignorant as it is, it happens a lot. there is a middle eastern worker at a gas station in the city where i live. he's new. i think to myself, "hmm...that's interesting...is he a terrorist?" i feel bad for it. i hate the fact that this goes through my mind. i never voice these things. i wouldnt let myself. but i think it is really just an impossible thing to overcome. to force what happens all over the world out of your mind is just impossible. to force the constant news headlines citing the terrorist suicide bombings, the london bombings, 9/11, all of these things effect people. maybe it happens on a subconcious level. it happens indirectly. it's like watching an ad on tv or something. as much as you hate it, as much as you dont want to see it or listen to it, i guarantee if you see it enough you would be able to recite the key points and key elements of the commercial which is exactly what it's there for. while this isnt the exact goal of the news or the media, i think it is similiar. whether we like it or not, these things are imprinted into the minds of everyone, into the minds of the people worldwide. they hear about a bombing, they associate it with a person of middle eastern decent, i think it is just impossible to expect anything else. it's all over the news, these terrorists have shown us they can penetrate deep without being found, and so there is a fear among the people. i think there always will be. thats the goal of terrorism, to cause fear in a population, and in doing so they also give middle easterners a bad rap. it truly is an unfortunate circumstance you find yourself in. i am sorry things are the way they are if that makes any difference. we know all middle easterners are not terrorists. im not saying that this line of thinking is justified, but due to circumstances out of our control it's how we have come to think. how can you be sure that the new guy working at the gas station is not a terrorist? i think it is similiar to foreigners view of americans. everyone has their own perceptions, opinions, experiences. a lot of people would say: "all americans are arrogant..." "all americans are assholes..." i mean we all stereotype people subconciously. i really don't know how you view americans, but a lot of people view us as being ignorant, blind and deaf to the world around us. sure this is the truth for some people. there always will be people like that in any country. but it's impossible to categorize everyone under one umbrella. that in it's own right is ignorant. a lot of middle easterners share some hatred for the U.S. they think we are all the same. this is not true however, and idk, maybe you can relate to that, maybe you can't but i think it is similiar to how americans view muslims. they think they are all the same, as they view us as being all the same. i think this can be attributed to the lack of interaction between people of different countries, and maybe even diffrences found deeper, traced back to the differences found within the varying cultures. lol maybe i dont even know what i am talking about, but this is how i view the whole thing...

haha yeah i dont know, i was feeling quite pensive last night lol. i felt like getting my thoughts out and your photos definitely evoked some the whole terrorist thing is just something neither side understands, and i think before any progress will ever be made there has to be understanding. i just dont think either side wants to make the compromise and go for it...

Yes, I hate it when widespread panic fuels prejudice. In my opinon, the panic risen by those terrorist actions is being manipulated to serve someone's ulterior motives. It's become an excuse for people to mistreat those who come from mainly Islamic countries. It is ridiculous!

This is a beautiful piece. Very powerful, transmiting the message extremely well. I must say that the model is truly versatile! Hadn't you said it was only one person poising here, I wouldn't have guessed.

this is really awesome.
i can understand where you're coming from, especially because i'm a non-muslim in a muslim country as well. people tend to judge so harshly these days that it has become almost normal to be cynical.
i love the fact that you thought of this shot, i love the angles, and i love the tiny details right down to the doll she's holding. depth in simplicity is surely a gift, one that i may never possess.
keep up the good work.

To comment on your commentary you just told every person visiting this page that you were turkish
