I know a lot of the elements you see in this shot here have been used by me before (theme, wallpaper, icons, Miranda, etc.) but I decided to just go ahead anyway and use it again for this shot.

Brief: I wanted to create something that's highly usable and flexible, and something that feels modern, with a slightly futuristic edge, and yet not overly pretentious.

The Gaia09.2 theme was chosen as it has a highly modern and sharp feel to it, while remaining highly usable. The transparency in the titlebar has been made fully opaque to further enhance it's usability, and numerous tweaks have been made to it to enhance the consistency and usability of the theme. The dock has been ditched in favour of the Windows 7 taskbar, which is better integrated with the operating system. As for icons, I ditched the abstract-ish icons I have been using for a long time over more literal, descriptive icons to make the different parts and functions of my computer's interface more easily understandable; this also makes for a less pretentious, artsy and more somber user interface overall.

Mind sharing that mIRC theme?

I'm not sure if it will work; I use NoNameScript here to theme mIRC and it has issues on versions 7.1 and later. It's only with hacking around a bit that I am able to get the theme (and the whole script) working at all.

If you still want it though, I can give it to you if you want it. It's a bit of a mess, so be warned.

Those are taskbar toolbars; right-click the taskbar, Toolbars > New toolbar... > then select the folder you want to appear in the taskbar. Then unlock your taskbar (if it's not already unlocked) right-click the new toolbar > Show title. Move the toolbar into a corner until you see just the title, then lock it.

This does occasionally have some quirks; the original Gaia09.2 visual style couldn't display the toolbars properly and I have to fiddle around with it for a bit to fix the issue. Some other visual styles also seem to have problems with it.
