My very first Leather Project and then the same one after a few years of experience.The main difference is the new set is crafted with free floating plates to allow fluid movement on the battlefield. The old one doesn't allow me to twist or bend, in addition to being over-hardened (as demonstrated by the cracks) and worn out. Also it was difficult to suit up solo as I had the brilliant idea to put the buckles on the back. It was time to replace it.
Materials:
16 oz Veg Tan Leather
5 oz Oiled Leather
#9 Copper Rivets
Fiebings Dye
Sealant
Hardened with the Cuir Bouilli technique.

17 pounds is a lot of weight to be toting around for battle (added to the rest of the weight of course

It isnt as bad as one would think, I dont really notice it to be honest, it fits close to the body and moves as I do so it doesnt hinder me or constantly remind me that it's there. The weight is secured to my torso and shoulders instead of weighing down solely on my neck and shoulders. The worst part is actually the steel shield, that is what wears me out the most in combat.
