Description SCA Heavy Combat Breastplate

Crafted with free floating plates to allow fluid movement on the battlefield. Β Once I have the set complete I will upload a video demonstrating the range of motion.

Materials:
16 oz Veg Tan Leather
5 oz Oiled Leather
#9 Copper Rivets
Fiebings Dye
Sealant

Hardened with the Cuir Bouilli technique.

If I'm looking at this correctly, you've got at least 2 layers of 16 oz between yourself and your opponents sword on any major vital area

Thanks!Β  I got the idea after a couple of armor commissions and trying out on them.Β  Yep, in most places there is two layers and in some overlap three of 16oz plates and 5oz Oiled leather for cushioning and absorption.Β  Even though there is more leather on the new one it actually feels less restrictive and allows far greater movement on the waist, which is important in delivering stronger blows.
