If you have ever gone into battle and been whacked on the thighs, then you know how essential it is to guard them from brutal strikes. In my very first duel when I joined the SCA I was struck on my thigh, leaving a gruesome bruise. I knew then that this would be the first part of my armor I would craft, and it has served me well through a great many a battle.The plates are made from 16oz SCA regulation armor grade Vegetable Tanned Leather and the skirting from 5oz oiled leather.
