Okay.... here is my second entry for the last Hakubaiko contest. This is another image I had to copy onto an 8.5x11 paper somewhere else before scanning it with my own computer 'cause I did NOT have the money to do a large scan.Anyway, is kind of an 'alternate universe / fan art' image with my own fan fic character on the left hand side (behind Kenshin).
Its just a modern representation of Kenshin and Kaoru's family as they are here working in the yard. Kenji (behind Kaoru) seems rather disgusted with his parents while Kennichi (my fanfic character) is just curious. I hope their expressions turned out right. Kaoru at least seems happy. She's getting an awfully nice snuggle for just having brought her husband a bottle of water, eh?
There's thousands of flaws with this thing. For one, I HATE how Kaoru came out. I can never make Kaoru LOOK like Kaoru. She always comes out looking funny to me and her hair is a disaster.
Anyway, nothing to do about it now. I just hope its passable. Because its a copy of a scan the quality is pretty bad. Sorry about that.
So... Mediums; background is prismacolor pencils, characers are colored with prismacolor markers with highlights from a gel pen. I need to thank Rice Fish for that inspiration. Works wonder.

If I were to write a fanfic with Kenshin and Kaoru's children, I would have had them have Kenji and (these would be my OCs) triplet daughters named Kasumi, Akane, and Sakura. Named after the three women who protected Kenshin when he was a child.
But that's just me.

I held a contest recently for people to suggest other artists work to win a subscription. This was an incentive to get people to look for new and unrecognized talent and share it with everyone.
The prize goes to the suggester unless they choose to give it to the artist, and the artist gets the feature.

Also submitted by equigoyle this is a very nice alternate universe image of Kenshin and Kaoru, and their family, with not just one, but two boys. Set in modern times, it helps to draw in how Kenshin and Kaoru's love and family is not really so different to ours. Their love speaks to us as an audience in this one, creating a very friendly and relaxed feel.
