Thank you
I used the Canon MP-E 65mm macro, the only lens capable of such magnifications.

Super nice! I really need to get out there in the mornings. That's when you really get good insect shots, eh? Often I go out though, and it's still a bit windy.

erezmarom In reply to crimsonpenguin [2010-03-18 19:07:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, morning is definately the time to shoot macro
Wind is a matter of luck... but you need to get out there and shoot.

crimsonpenguin In reply to erezmarom [2010-03-18 19:11:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I guess I better just try to change my sleeping schedule so instead of going to bed at 3, I'm getting up a couple hours later! Spring is on its way; would be good to try soon. I have the equipment, and I know how to use it... should be great. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration.

I use a Canon 40D. Not that it's critical, you can take a good picture with any camera.

Wow this is amazing.
I just googled what an MP-E was.
MP-E65mm - thats a really cool lens.
Makes me wanna buy a SLR, just to take more macros.
Congrats on the DD.
Keep em coming

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

erezmarom In reply to kaush [2010-03-04 17:22:53 +0000 UTC]

I will, thanks!
BTW, if you do gt an SLR and a macro lens, do NOT make the MP-E your first macro lens. It's extremely hard to use and will get you very frustrated. Better get started with an easier lens. If you need recommendations, message me.

kaush In reply to erezmarom [2010-03-04 17:45:51 +0000 UTC]

I can imagine, but you know I used the same method of focusing with my lowly oly 5060.
I put it into super macro mode, which lets me get the lens 3cm right infront of the insects, I keep it in manual focus, and move back and forth until I get it into focus, which is pretty much what I assume you do with your MP-E.
But I cant afford a SLR right now, trying to get a new bridge cam.
May be in a couple of years, unless you upgrade and are willing to throw your 40D my way heheheh
