Description
This is my steampunk raygun. My persona is Dr. Rhea Flynne, inventor and explorer, crew-member upon an airship which is yet to be named. Which she designed and helped build.

The gun (in theory/hypothetically) is able to release a beam of energy that can stun, injure, or kill depending on the frequency. She needs a gun because airship pirates frequently attack the ship due to it's valuable cargo (usually relating to Rhea's inventions or the Captain's riches). They did in fact take a hostage from the pirates who does not give out her real name and prefers to go by Rex.

The gun itself took me three days to make. First I took a regular plastic water gun and spray painted it to give it texture and a metallic feel. Then, I painted it with acrylics. It made it's debut at the Marin Shakespeare performance of The Tempest where I sat in the front row and was dubbed "favorite audience member" by most of the cast.
