Warning: this is an april fools day joke!
Welcome to a CV project that has been years in the making. YES! Even before we knew we would be volunteers--ages before we even knew DeviantArt existed--we were working on this collection of tutorials to bring only the most refined and technologically advanced methods to your interweb doorstep.

In this extensive tutorial I am going to show you how to build your own ultimate manip.

The ultimate manip requires only five specific ingredients:

1. Pretty girl in dramatic pose (irreplaceable). Use faestock if you can!
2. Forest (cemetery also works)
3. Full moon (a big one)
4. Pretty hair (lots of it)
5. Ravens (the more the merrier) 

As it happens, I prepared everything here:

Usually crediting is only for beginners, but for the sake of this ultimate tutorial I'll do it.

Step 1: Take the cemetery pic and add the girl. Premades for backgrounds are usually excellent, don't waste too much time on doing it yourself. No one will care. 
Thanks to my long experience with pretty girls I can easily tell you what will work best in your manip. The pose must be dramatic: the girl should be raising a hand into nothingness with a serene expression on her face - that's the pretty girl in her natural habitat. It's a plus if she is wearing a black puffy dress.
Don't worry about the blending now, we will cover everything with nice hair later.



Step 2: Add the moon and cover the whole canvas. And make sure to put it in front of the clouds so that we can see it, no matter if it makes sense or not. Like this.



Step 3: Draw pretty hair. If you think being hairless is the ideal of beauty, think again. In photomanipulation we say the hairier the better! Make sure to cover all sloppy areas to hide bad blending. Moreover, the hair should be really long and flowing all over the place. Who cares about physics and all. We are artists! Also, long hair will make the model so much prettier, which is particularly true if we erase all her original hair and repaint it, but better.



Phew. This was by far the hardest step, I had to repaint the hair many times! But I told you we would cover all "bad" spots.

Step 4: Complete the manip by throwing in a lot of ravens and put them in all the places you previously missed. This goes super well with the original cemetery theme and will give your manip a much deeper meaning. Good thing that we have 3D ravens that are already extracted, so we can simply copy+paste them into our canvas.

I am new to Manips, and I'm so glad to find out that this is a 'tongue-in-cheek' Manip Tutorial.  Because as I was going through it I could not help thinking - is this person serious?
So I am not offended, just relieved to see that it is but a parody. 
On another note, I would truly appreciate a detailed tute on good lighting in a manip.

I guess it gets harder to detect the joke the longer April Fools day is over lol.. I'm adding a disclaimer to the journal header.
About light in manips... I think views can differ greatly what "good light" is. Personally I like it when it's natural/believable. The best study for that is nature. Other artists like to add highlights to their manips to give them a glossy, high quality look. OMG, it was wonderful, the best tutorial without doubt!  the hair part lol made me laugh a lot, funny that I at some point already used these valuable tips in the past, it makes me think in my art>  wish this tutorial was posted some time ago, now I think I did not add hair and crows enough lol
