Description watercolour, A5

Just a little painting based off a sketch I did the other day which I liked.

My aunt is an artist who has a stall at our local market every month, and this month she asked if I wanted to put a couple of paintings for sale on her stall, so I thought I would see if I could get a couple of small ones finished before next weekend

My scanner has absolutely washed out all the colours (I think it drank the blues for breakfast). I would love to know how everyone else gets their art from the page to the screen. I think this subject deserves a whole journal though - I'll write one soon!

Here's a bunch of progress shots if you're interested in that kind of thing

Thanks! I'm trying to keep the colours restrained but it's definitely one of my biggest struggles

I might write a journal about post-processing scans and photos, then (: Not that I'm always satisfied with the result, but over the years I've learnt quite a bit about it. As to the painting itself, I surely would love to stand in her place! Looks like there's a gap in the clouds and a fabulous view to sight. Great work on the clouds (:

Thanks so much! I'd definitely love to read what you have to say about post-processing scans and photos, I always have a lot of trouble. Now I've moved cities it's worse actually coz I don't even have access to a half-decent scanner, only a monster (it crouches in the corner of my office waiting to devour unsuspecting artwork) or my phone camera.

Very nice! I really like how you made a bit of shadow between the clouds and the basket, I think that was a good idea. Also all the detail in the basket was very well done. Good luck at the sale!
