Description I confess, all I wanted to do with this page was dress Garrus with the Phantom armour!
This chapter is titled 'Dreams' and surprise-surprise, it beginning with a dream. I debated with myself a lo thow to represent dreams. I wanted to use blue, but as I'm already using it for memories, it would end up being confussing. So I went for ocher coloured panels with some dark and kind of unfinished backgrounds or absent backgrounds. I wanted to focus more on the characters that appear in the dream and not so much were they are. Ok, that I don't like backgrounds is the hidden reason
Enough rambling!
Edit: amended the 'thoughts' lines to italics.

Thanks to for his beta-read!!

Thanks! I wanted to add background, but unreal, to try to convey the feeling of dreams, I'm glad to hear I did a good job

wowowow, if Garrus is replacing Nihlus then does that mean what I think it means? (I'm talking about the outcome and fate of Nihlus in the game) Ow man this is a shocker and a cliff hanger

You did a good job with representing the dream, and a good choice with the panel color

hmmmm still I like how you thought about the plot for the dream I must say it's very innovative

No problem I'm certain I'm not the only one

... oh no... Garrus has replaced Nihlus... this does not bode well for her dream. But I half expected something like this to happen given the title of the chapter. Where she knows what is to happen and that she is powerless to stop it... terrible terrible. Dreams are strange like that.... despite the fact that what we see goes against all logic and familiar areas, we accept what we see in dreams...

I suspect Shepard will be the same... accepting what she sees and praying it is a dream, even if everything around her should scream out at her that it is a dream. Part of me hopes she will place herself in the path of the bullet meant for Nihlus/Garrus... a proof of her desire to keep Garrus safe.

Erm... not, it does not look good. That's what I wanted to show in this chapter: dreams are weird because you are in situations that you can recognize and know that are odd but your mind tells you that everything is normal. And then you got in the net of weirdness and go along with it. Even though you know it's only a dream.

That was a very good idea... Why I didn't come up with it!!

woooohooooo my favourite turian armor
I think that the "unfinished" background suits well to the dream squence, Shep just focuses on the important things, I think it's better than if you'd do whole detailed background it would lost the atmosphere of the dream

It's one of the scariest games I've ever played. Also, it's the most grotesque. Basically, some alien artifact is making everybody go nuts and turn into necromorphs, repurposed humans that come in various forms. The whole thing is set in the dark corridors of the USG Ishimura, and right off the bat the s- hits the fan.

That armour suits him, doesn't it? I spend the whole game looking for it with no success... I think there's a mod for it or something.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Skyward-Dreamer In reply to ErsbethShadowsong [2011-06-02 20:19:06 +0000 UTC]

I don't know, I've never seen it on anyone except Nihlus and two officers aboard a turian cruiser. It's not the prettiest armour, not by a longshot, but I'd still like to have more reference pics of it.

No, I don't think so, but first of all you have to find and buy a certain license for it, the ... what was it? Serris Council something I think. And then it might be that you need to be a certain level for it. I heard someone who'd been looking for it for ages and finally found it on the next to highest level or so. I've never even found that license in the first place so ...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ErsbethShadowsong In reply to Skyward-Dreamer [2011-06-09 21:18:34 +0000 UTC]

Mmmm... I'll keep searching then. At each level after I have all the licenses... Thanks!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Skyward-Dreamer In reply to ErsbethShadowsong [2011-06-10 09:41:13 +0000 UTC]

Actually, I read something about that too come to think of it, that you shouldn't buy all of them for whatever reason, but focus on that Serris one instead.

Also, can you please explain how you play multiple games with the same character? Can you start a New game with an existing profile to try and increase their rank a bit or what do you do? Thanks!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ErsbethShadowsong In reply to Skyward-Dreamer [2011-06-19 17:56:02 +0000 UTC]

Serris one... noted...

I'm not sure if you can do that with ME1. I played ME2 and when I finished it, the game gave me the option of playing with a new character or replaying the game with the same Shepard. I did the second and I started the game with the same level I had when I finished it (29 I think). You have all the points to spend in powers which came very handy because I was playing in insanity. But this only with the second game, I could do it with the first one

No problem... sorry for the late answer!

Skyward-Dreamer In reply to ErsbethShadowsong [2011-06-22 23:17:01 +0000 UTC]

Okay, that's what I thought. I don't remember seeing an option to replay the game. Gosh, I wonder what they do to reach 60 or whatever the highest level is! I'm stuck at 40 something. Maybe you get more points for enemies when you play on the harder settings. Which I have yet to try.

Oh no problem, I'm probably not replaying the games until just before the release of the third game anyway so there's plenty of time left.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ErsbethShadowsong In reply to Skyward-Dreamer [2011-06-24 21:17:14 +0000 UTC]

Is 60 the highest level? Probably if you play the expansion and all the side quests, plus the mineral and medal quests... I'm not sure if you get more points if you play on harder modes. I'll have to try also!

I play it every now and then, usually when I've run out of ideas or have some trouble with some panels...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Skyward-Dreamer In reply to ErsbethShadowsong [2011-06-24 21:29:05 +0000 UTC]

Well I don't know about the second game, that was for the first game actually, sorry. Hah, I'm at 29 or somthing in ME2. Blush.

That's brilliant, I should do the same really, I'm starting to feel I'm getting too far away from the real thing ... Then again, I have the important cutscenes right here on my computer (read: every single one that has some turian action in them) so I can just fire one up if I need to hear a certain someone's soothing voice for a while.

ErsbethShadowsong In reply to Skyward-Dreamer [2011-06-25 09:57:00 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I was talking about the first game! The second game, on higher levels, throw at you more husks+mercs+whatever you're fighting with with better shields or armour. I don't remember which lvl I ended up with on the first game...

I like a lot how you think!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Skyward-Dreamer In reply to ErsbethShadowsong [2011-06-25 23:06:06 +0000 UTC]

Ah, that's what I was thinking too. And more enemies mean more points I suppose, maybe that's how the first game works too?

Ha ha. Well it's really great having the conversations etc available if I need to check something so I basically use those vids for reference purposes. But once in a while I just have to have me a bit of Garrus so ...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ErsbethShadowsong In reply to Skyward-Dreamer [2011-06-26 12:48:19 +0000 UTC]

Mmm... I didn't thought of that... I assumed that you were given a determined number of points for each mission, independently of the number of mobs you killed, but you may be right... I'll inventigate that for the first and second game.

I understand you perfectly. I usually check on youtube videos for certain conversations, but sometimes I just need to watch the scene with my Shepard. It's the same as reading a certain parragraph of a novel, it doesn't work with other characters!

Skyward-Dreamer In reply to ErsbethShadowsong [2011-06-28 00:12:50 +0000 UTC]

Well I don't know, it's been quite a while since I actually played, but it seemed to me that in the first game, I ranked up by killing a lot of geth, he he and finding tons of minerals etc.

Yay! Exactly ... and awww, I just discovered that Garrus can die in at least three different ways during the suicide mission. Luckily, that never happened to me, phew!

ErsbethShadowsong In reply to Skyward-Dreamer [2011-06-28 05:59:43 +0000 UTC]

I confess I played a little this Sunday, but I didn't notice any difference, a part of the fact they are more difficult to kill... Or maybe I lack practice!

Three? I know he can die if you don't upgrade the Thannix Cannon or the shields (as I never remember which one, I upgrade both... In fact, I upgrade everything!) and he can also die if you pick up a wrong biotic specialist... None of them happened to me, but I read them somewhere... but which is the third one? (I want to avoid it!)

Skyward-Dreamer In reply to ErsbethShadowsong [2011-06-28 10:53:58 +0000 UTC]

Awesome! Oh well, so much for that theory .. okay, so how the heck DO you get to level 60?

Yes, I didn't mean being crushed by a beam inside the Normandy. Well, I did see him get shot by a Collector when trying to close a door ... then I saw him get taken by a swarm (that's probably the wrong biotic, I always used Samara but in the clip Miranda was the one handling the field) and the third scenario had him lying dead on the gondola after defeating the Reaper larva instead of being pinned under, but still alive, a piece of debris.

No idea how exactly you achieve the deaths though as thank god he never died on me, not even once.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ErsbethShadowsong In reply to Skyward-Dreamer [2011-07-03 20:40:13 +0000 UTC]

I think I know how to reach level 60... I started a new playthrough and you can use an existing character and play again from the beginning with the weapons and armor you had when you finish the game. I've checked and I reached lvl 49 and 46 with my two Shepards aaaaaand I've managed to find the Phantom Armour!! It was inside a box, ina base full of mercs in the planet Xawin.

Aaah, yes, he can also die there. If he gets shot by a Collector when closing the door, I think it is because you picked him as tech specialist and he was not loyal or you pick a wrong team leader. Yes, that one is because you picked the wrong biotic. As far as I know, that place can only be picked by Samara or Jack. The last may be because he's not loyal... I guess that's the scenario when you don't do loyalty missions.

Ookay, please tell me exactly what to do because I couldn't figure it out.

That's fantastic! Congratulations! I really must try that out once I settle down a bit. I've had hellish computer problem for a full 24 hours so I'm totally stressed out right now. Didn't do nearly what I had wanted to do today. I thought I was going to finish another comic page and plan for the final bunch of uploads of Treason, but that didn't happen.

Yes, I can't believe I was lucky (or clever) enough the first time through to do it all right, because I got all my team mates through without problem, ha ha. I mean, what were the chances when SO much can go wrong for making even one mistake?

ErsbethShadowsong In reply to Skyward-Dreamer [2011-07-03 22:26:58 +0000 UTC]

Just start a new game and when you are asked to chose "your Shepard" select "Import existing ID" and you will be able to choose an existing character, even one that has finished the game.

Computers are teacherous things. Just breath in and breath out, this kind of things just happen and losing your nerves won't do any good. Do whatever you can do tomorrow and don't be stressed. Follow my advice. It comes from personal experience! We will wait patiently for your nex upload for Treason

You tell me... I lost Legion and Miranda for not being careful enough....

Skyward-Dreamer In reply to ErsbethShadowsong [2011-07-03 22:40:36 +0000 UTC]

Oh .. thanks a million! I'm saving this for future reference. Awesome.

Well it wasn't the computer, I think. Somehow, my router got 'hung up' somehow last night. I was just sitting here working on my comic when all of a sudden I couldn't reach the Internet. All I got was that the modem had connectivity issues. So I've spent probably an hour and a half with support today and they couldn't help. Finally, I found a router manual on CD and was able to log into a setup wizard from where I was able to reset and change the router settings. But man was this weird or what? I even tried another set of modem and router, the one from my apartment and got the same problem! No idea why that would be, I also tried running the modem against the INternet without the router and that didn't work, not on four different PCs! Argh ...

Thanks! It'll be something of a mega upload too.

See? Maybe I knew my team better than I thought so it felt only natural to make the choices I made? Strange though that I should be so lucky in the first try ...
