Description A large pink sakura kanzashi. Sakura is the main kanzashi motif for April, and probably one of the most popular motifs overall, alongside wisteria and willow. It's normally seen in pink or white, although I have seen one or two that included a light red color.
It can be worn alone or with silver butterflies, the other April motif.

Made with cotton fabric, wire, and embroidery thread

I know it's been sold, but just to give me an idea, how much was it?

I would charge about $35.00 plus shipping for a piece like this now were I to make it again.

Hello! Yes, I have an etsy store, you can find it here: www.etsy.com/shop/ImlothMelui
That particular kanzashi has already been sold, but I do take custom orders.

I love the detail of the buds that are just opening up! The flower in full bloom is gorgeous, but the buds make it look even more fresh and spring-y.

How do you get the petals like that?
I've tried...and failed XP

Do you mean the pinch in the end of the petal that makes the Sakura shape? I just add a dab of white or rice glue to the outside of the petal end, and use tweezers to make a pinch from the inside. I put some tiny binder clips on the pinch to hold it until the glue is almost but not quite dry, then release it and let the glue dry completely. You could also wait until the glue is completely dry to take the clip off and then pull the fabric until the pinch pops back open, but you risk rust forming on the fabric if you leave the clip on that long. You could also just hold it with the tweezers until it's set, but that would take forever if you're doing many petals.

Hope that helps!
