Crimson Troopers are essentially the canon versions of the Legends Magma Stormtroopers.
Personally, one of my headcanons is that Crimson Stormtroopers aren't simply just volcanic environment troopers but rather Elite Stormtroopers that partake in Imperial Special Forces. After seeing the mod you see above I grew a liking of the idea that red armored Stormtroopers can enter the battlefield adorned in crimson shell plating with black pauldrons, pouches and wielding twin blaster pistols. That said, this headcanon comes with the fact that each Crimson Stormtrooper always wore black pauldrons and their ranks would be identified via internal HUD scans, therefore, their ranks would not abide by the different pauldron color routine thus making it difficult to identify their ranks if you were not wearing a helmet (Take that, rebels.)
