Anyhow! Here we are, the next episode! I've mentioned this, I think, on the Nuzlocke Forums, and on Tumblr, but this one has been a DOOZY. It's huge, first of all. Second of all, I had no idea how labor-intensive those Ghastlies were going to be. Did you guys know it's really hard to properly shade it a circle. :U
But it's worth it, because...Donna evolves! And also, we see our old friend, Vivaldi, again. He's come back as a spirit to give Donna closure. But, is it really him, or a figment of Donna's imagination? Or even a vision made by one of these crazy Ghastlies? I'll leave that part of the story up to you. It's always nice to have a little ~mystery~.
There was also a lotttt of Josh and Donna on this page, which is wonderful because I love the way they interact, but terrible because they are both equally hard to tone in as the ghastlies. Their markings make it very difficult to stay inside the lines. :U
Hopefully, this is all illustrated in a way that makes sense. I found it really hard to cut the sequence between Donna and Vivaldi together with what was happening to Josh in a way that worked. And hopefully Vivaldi's fading away wasn't too sudden. It made sense when I was scripting/paneling. ;A;
And look! Virginia is back! I still haven't figured out what to do with her character, honestly. >3>
Anyways, enjoy, guys! I hope you like this page~ I'm actually quite proud with how the art came out, though I wish I could've just completely done away with the tombstones everywhere. >U

Ok well... first off I love your pokemon runs and I really like your picture book one because its just so simple and easy to follow. I love how you drew Toph because no one EVER has drilburs in their nuzlockes but I love them (I have a boy named Moze). And I just really love the style with which you draw and think your top notch and would love to see more updates. And dont let Toph die! I'd love to see her as an excadrill

When a pokemon dies in a nuzlocke for some strange reason, the one who was hurt the most is able to see them when they go to a Tower for the dead, or just when ever they are at the weakest. Examples:
Ruby can see his old Seedot when he needs help.
Locke can see all her dead pokemon in the Finale.
And in this case, Donna can see Vivaldi in the Tower.

I don't think that's necessarily a rule of Nuzlockes, like, it is the word of the Nuzlocke gods or anything, but a lot of people do it because it makes for good storytelling and it allows for the closure that usually you don't get when your pokemon first dies.

Ahhh! It's been that long? I'm sorry! D': I have the next update ready to be inked; I just have been very busy with a bunch of other things. Actually, between you and me and whoever is reading this comment, I've been trying to put together a portfolio for a college application; and for that, I've been concentrating on more original art and experimentation, so I haven't gotten to work too hard on this Nuzlocke lately! (However, if you're on the forums, you can steal a glance at a semi-secret picturebook black run , which is a casualocke I only really promote on my Tumblr. :'D

Well, I don't think it's been that long, but I just realized, when looking at Nuzlockes, that yours has not updated in a while. So I read it, and remembered how damn awesome it is (Donna is my favorite :3), and wished you would update it.
The black run ish epic, though what constitutes a "Casualocke" as such? It seems like any run in which your partners can die wouldn't be 'casual'... though I saw your rules mods. I think I would abuse that a little... or a lot...

A Casualocke is just a term for a regular nuzlocke that would normally go undocumented; I did a Sapphire Casualocke in the past where I'd put up posts with team status on my Tumblr; the rules aren't any different, it's just that there's not usually a comic for them. Initially my run was planned as a written log run with a few illustrations here and there, but now there's a comic for every update. xD;;

Thank you! It's a ton of fun to draw her~ I've never been very happy with the way Floatzel's sprites looked in the games, (why are they always so fat ;A; ) so it's fun to put my own spin on their cool designs.

Am liking it!! I have to be honest, I wish my comic was coming along faster than it is.
Vivaldi was a little rushed in there, but I think Donna's evolving was worth it. Won't comment too terribly big because... well, I HAVE TO get my comic out there! Am falling behind so dramatically....

I know the feeling. I've been wishing a lot lately that there was a way for me to make this comic move faster, while also still continuing to have the same level of character development, etc., in the story.
I felt that maybe Vivaldi could've had a few more panels, but he really did get to say everything I wanted him to say. I almost wish I'd given them a moment to say goodbye before he disappeared, but part of the whole flow of the comic was to show that Donna was coming to terms with Vivaldi's death, and re-learning to live with her live teammates.
I can't wait to see your comic! *roots you on with cheery optimism*

Yeah, but I think you tied Vivaldi's little meeting nicely. Thinking back, it may actually benefit you that he didn't come back as quickly. Leaves a little unsettling feeling that yeah he came and went, but a slight hint that this is not the last we may see of him.
