Description

Friends recently I’ve been working on different things (-in order not to repeat myself, therefore I’m out of my comfort zone-) on bigger paper.I cannot scan them, taking photos do not work either I wish I could,so then you could tell me where I’m doing wrong. It’s always great to receive feedback

So,again one of my little friends I love how they sing in the morning,as if they are distilling their voice from heaven They even gently reply the questions whenever I ask to them.I pretent to understand )

What's wrong with your photos? You should be able to get a fairly good image with these tricks.

1. ALWAYS place the photograph in natural, indirect light. DO NOT EVER USE THE FLASH. Graphite with turn silver in flash and appear faint. If you need more light, try an overhead.

2. Photograph as close as to the image as possible so the drawing just about fills the camera screen.

3. DO NOT USE THE ZOOM - the picture will resolve cleaner - especially with delicate graphite drawings.

4. Brace your arms in some way to steady your hands. Use a chair, counter or table to brace from, then shoot directly down - parallel to the drawing. A slight angle is ok.

(If you decide to draw larger yet, stand on a chair and shoot down from that height, bracing your elbows against your sides. I shoot images as large as 30" x 36" in this manner.)

Do you have an editing program you like using? I have found IPhoto to be excellent, as is PIXLR. There are many, many others - find one you find easy.

hehe...  I love that you sing back to them.  I used to try to "talk" with the squirrels, but conversations with them always felt more like an argument than a discussion.

(When I take photos of drawings that are too big to fit on the scanner, I try to prop the sketch up at an angle, and then set the camera and tripod so that it's at a right angle to the drawing.  Then I make sure I have *two* bright lamps shining on the picture, opposite each other, at about a 45° angle to the paper, so I get decent, even illumination.  I always make sure I have the camera zoomed out as far as possible to avoid optical distortion in the center.  The biggest thing to remember is the tripod, to hold the camera as still as possible, and to avoid the tiny bit of shake that blurs the image.  And, practice, practice, practice.  Don't be afraid to go back and take the photo again.  You may have to use some image editing software to shift back the white balance, or simply de-saturate the colors to turn it back to B&W again.)

Beautiful drawing to go with your little story.

Thanks very much! (I wish I had a tripod camera or know someone to borrow from.)

yeah, we can get pretty inexpensive ones here.  You don't need anything fancy, or even a really strong one, unless your camera is heavy.  I have a pretty small Canon point-n-shoot, but it does have a tripod thread on the bottom.

You can sort of cheat by taking broom handle, and just holding the camera on top of that to steady it.  You might even use some boxes or a desk.  You just need something to hold it really, really steady.

Composer, singer, herald of Spring.  And, yes, as davincipoppalag says, a cute little guy.
